English

I chose the subject English as my main course because I have always loved the language. I feel drawn
to it. But English is not just a language to me. It furthermore was and still is the language in which I
can express myself the most. Whether if it is talking to my friends or talking to a family member, I
always talk either English or use a lot of English vocabulary. It will always be the language I prefer
talking in. I have a passion or great love for the English language, and I would love to share that passion.
Whether that be my students or just people in general. If I would be able to teach this subject, I would
want my pupils to fall in love with English as much as I did. I want to show them how incredible this
language is. That is why I chose the course English.

How ever I learned English not just by sitting in class. We live in a society where the English language
is very present. Technology, social media, movies, tv programs, online streaming apps for example
Netflix, Amazon prime and Disney plus. I grew up with all of that and therefor I came a lot in contact
with the English language. Furthermore, I watch a lot of movies and television shows all of them being
in English and because of that I naturally started to pick up the language. I also have a rather rare
talent where I can pick up a language or a specific accent quite quickly. Therefor I picked up the
language rather fast. The combination of English classes in school and watching only American,
Australian or British television is how I learned, why I love and why I chose English as my main course.
