Sosebee Memoir

My boyfriend is my rock. He is supportive, understanding, loving, compassionate, and

motivational. He is eager to please and always does so. He makes me want to be a better
person and loves me unconditionally through anything and everything. He stands 5 feet and 10
inches tall, with blonde curly hair that turns orange in the sunlight. He is lengthy and athletic and
holds himself unsurely. He wears gym shorts and black and gray dri-fit shirts, because they’re
“easy to match”. He wears a black chain necklace with a cross as a piece to match with his
brothers, except his is slightly more special, since I gifted it to him.
When he talks, it sounds knowledgeable and confident; but not arrogant, humble. He
talks about things you have no clue about, but doesn’t make you feel stupid about it. Instead, he
uses it as an opportunity to teach and inform others. Though he usually knows what he’s talking
about seeing as how he knows a little bit about everything, he never comes off as
condescending or conceited, it’s usually informative and welcoming.
He wants to teach people the cool and interesting things he’s learned. I am so thankful
for the things he’s taught me and continues to teach me. Not just the random facts, like “Did you
know that cows in mountainous regions have one set of legs longer than the other for balancing
efficiency?”, but even the “It’s okay to have an off day, we can’t always give our everything all
the time”. Everyday I am grateful that he’s a part of my life. He’s setting the example in every
aspect of what I hope to someday become. He is one of the people I admire most.
Late last night, I had just gotten through a tough argument with my dad. I called my
boyfriend, after crying in my room, expressing to him that I had left that argument feeling awful
about myself. I told him that I have nothing to be proud of, I never do anything right, and that I
simply have never felt that I was enough for him in our relationship. He reassured me, as he
always does, that I am more than enough for him and that I have so many things to be proud of
myself for. He said to me “You are easily the strongest person I know”. And I don’t think I will
ever forget that.
