1. Key Outcomes/Achievements for the assessment year


 Amendments in Companies Act, 2017 were made to ease doing business especially for small companies.
 Financial Institutions (Secured Transactions) (Amendment) Bill 2021 was passed by Parliament, in order to
enhance access to finance for Small & Medium Sized Entities.
 Amendments in (Further Issue of Shares) Regulations, 2020 to facilitate corporate sector.
 Amendments in the Associations with Charitable and Not for Profit Objects Regulations, 2018 were made to
simplify the process to apply for the grant of license under Section 42 of the Companies Act, 2017.
 A total of 26,502 companies were incorporated during the year which translates into 15.4% of total companies
registered in the country.

2. Leadership initiatives during the year


 Issued draft Companies Regulations, 2022 seeking public comments which is a consolidated version of nine
separate regulations.
 Supervising LEAP programme of SECP as Head of the Department, which is designed to bring digital
transformation, end-to-end automation and creation of a state-of-the-art interface across all regulated
functions.
 Initiated Digital Mortgage Register for banks, which is nearly at its launch stage.
 WhatsApp service was introduced for Business Care in July 2021 with live conversation with SECP’s trained
agents for quick resolution of issues/queries.

3. Team Achievements and your role in those achievement


 Through effectual leadership, the 3rd phase of digital CTC has been implemented and the issuance of digital CTCs
have been made available.
 Extension of one window for business registration with EOBI, FBR and provincial department of BESSI in
Baluchistan, by making an effective team for the desired outcome.
 Through rigorous follow ups, data Integration with Intellectual Property Organization (IPO-Pakistan) and SMEDA
has been implemented for mutual sharing of information.
 An online portal of Companies Easy Exit Scheme has recently been launched in order to facilitate the closure of
companies, automating and simplifying the process of easy exit. This was made possible through effective
delegation of responsibilities.
 Increased/new fee structure relating to Mergers, schemes of amalgamation and reconstruction of companies was
made effective after detailed scrutiny and analysis of different fee structures.
