2.Course Details:

a) Course description:

A program in Banking and Insurance is developed as per the requirements of the finance sectors
where students learn banking activities, legal regulations, financial stability, and services. Students
are also trained at insurance companies and banking sectors during course projects to be acquainted
with the regulations and guiding principles.

b) Objectives:

1.To appreciate and understand the undergoing transformation in banking and insurance sector

2.To provide detailed focus on national legislations such as RBI Act, Banking Regulation Act,
1949, Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 and Insurance Act, 1938

3. To provide comprehensive analysis of the recent amendments made In regard to negotiable


instruments, insurance law etc.

c) Course outcomes:

On the completion of the course, students will be able to:

1. Identify the various essentials and functions of banking Institutions and insurance
companies.
2. Explain the governing principles of Banking institutions and insurance companies.
3. Outline the electronic banking and communication technologies required in the field.
4. Various risks and financial problems in the lending process and its solutions can be
demonstrated.
5. Explain a good understanding of the relationship between the Banker and the customer.

After undergoing this program, a student will be able to: -


1. Explain and analyse the substantive and procedural laws.
2. Analyse legal document and resolve problems legally to achieve social and economic
justice.
3. Understand the principles of law, its processes, procedures and relevant application in the
legal world.
4. Demonstrate and provide adequate legal skills in different areas of legal profession.

6. Develop a global perspective towards various legal issues.

8. Develop the skill in Drafting of legal documents and Law reports.
