Risky Routes: The Dunki Process of Illegal Immigration to the USA

Hello everyone, and welcome to a very important discussion. Today, we're going to talk about
something really serious – a movement of people that's both heartbreaking and troubling. It's
called Dunki Emigration. Dunki Emigration is the dangerous journey that people from third

Imagine the sea, peaceful on the surface but hiding a sad truth underneath. According to a
report from the International Organization for Migration (IOM), since 2014, over 52,076 people
have gone missing or lost their lives while trying to reach better countries. These are places
where they hope to find a better life. Need Link
The illegal immigrant population of the United States peaked by 2007, when it was at 12.2
million and 4% of the total U.S. population. PEW Research Center Estimates in 2016 put the
number of unauthorized immigrants at 10.7 million, representing 3.3% of the total U.S.
population. Need Link or proof
Today, we're going to tell you about these people – people whose stories are often hidden,
whose names aren't known, and whose families are left wondering what happened to them.
Some of them end up as food for sea creatures, which is a really sad thought. Their families just
wish they could see them one last time.

But why do they take such big risks? Why do they go through such dangerous
paths? These are big questions, and we're going to try to find some answers.
Imagine walking through tough terrain, facing darkness and uncertainty, just for a chance at a
better life. These paths are tough, and the people who take them show incredible strength and
bravery. But why do they choose these paths when there are legal ways to move?
In the background, there are bad people who make money from this suffering. They're like the
villains in a story, making a game out of people's lives. It's really sad and unfair.
And right in the middle of all this, there's an important thing we want to show you – the illegal
oath that these people take before they start their journey. It's a promise that they make, even
though the journey is tough and risky.
Does not make sense why do they take risks??????? Come up with
some realistic examples

How many people in the U.S. are immigrants?

In 2018, the number of people who were born outside the U.S. reached a record high of 44.8
million. Since 1965, when new immigration laws were put in place, the number of immigrants
living in the U.S. has increased four times. Immigrants now make up 13.7% of the U.S.
population, which is almost three times more than the 4.8% in 1970. But it's still less than the
highest ever in 1890, when 9.2 million immigrants lived in the U.S.

What is the legal status of immigrants in the U.S.?

According to new Pew Research Center estimates based on census data adjusted for
undercount, 77% of immigrants are legal and 25% are undocumented. In 2017, 45% were
naturalized Americans.
In 2017, 27% of immigrants were permanent residents and 5% temporary. Unauthorized
immigrants made for 23% of immigration. The undocumented immigration population
increased from 3.5 million in 1990 to 12.2 million in 2007. That number fell 14% to 1.7 million in
2017. The U.S. had 10.5 million undocumented immigrants in 2017, 3.2% of the population.
Most of the decline in undocumented immigrants is attributable to a drop in Mexico, the largest
group. Between 2007 and 2017, this group lost 2 million. The number from Central America and
Asia increased.

How can you explain this in just few

words and easy.
Where do immigrants come from?
Mexico is the top U.S. immigrant origin. In 2018, 11.2 million U.S. immigrants were from there,
25% of all immigrants. The next largest origin groups were China (6%), India (6%), the
Philippines (4%) and El Salvador (3%).
Asia accounted for 28% of immigrants by birth, close to Mexico (25%). Europe, Canada, and
other North America (13%), the Caribbean (10%), Central America (8%), South America (7%),
the Middle East and North Africa (4%) and sub-Saharan Africa (5%).

How many illegal migrants die crossing the US border?

Over the years, a heartbreaking toll has been exacted on the lives of unauthorized migrants,
with a devastating loss of over 8,000 souls since 1998 along the unforgiving stretch of the US-
Mexico border. Their arduous journey leads them through unforgiving deserts, where water is
scarce, and across rugged landscapes with unfathomable challenges, where summer
temperatures can soar to a scorching 118°F. Need Link

Tragically, many of these brave souls have met their untimely end due to the merciless forces of
nature, succumbing to the extremities of the temperatures, facing harrowing drownings, and
enduring treacherous falls that shatter lives. Their stories serve as a somber reminder of the
immense trials faced by those seeking a better life.

The heart-rending journey of Dunki people, much like that of migrants from South American
states, is a symphony of aspirations and fears, echoing the yearning for better lives.
In Dunki lands and nations like Venezuela, economic gaps yawn wide. Jobs are scarce, futures
dim. Hunger gnaws, dignity wanes. The distant glow of shores promises relief, a chance to heal.
Amidst political storms in South American states like Honduras, freedoms fray, corruption
reigns. Hope flickers in the dark. Safety becomes a lifeline, a path to escape the chaos. The USA
gleams, a refuge from the storm.
Step by step towards the USA, Dunki migrants and those from El Salvador press on. With
courage as their guide, they navigate danger. Treacherous paths, scorching sun—they endure,
fueled by dreams. A life where work brings joy, voices ring free.
EXPLAIN EASY WHAT DOES IT MEAN… it should
be easy
In foreign lands, Dunki migrants, like Ecuadorian migrants, face new hardships. Unfamiliarity is
their constant companion. Men, women, and children—their strength shines. Exploitation's
sting, separation's ache—they endure, their resilience unbreakable.
United in purpose, communities rally. Grassroots efforts rise, demanding change. "Address the
roots, bridge the gaps," they cry. A plea for transformation, for a brighter tomorrow.
Economic disparities and political unrest—these forces drive their journeys. Dunki migrants, like
those from South American states, chase dreams, defying odds. Each step speaks of humanity's
unyielding spirit, a testament to the power of hope.

What factors Drives Migrants to the U.S.?

The USA beckons Dunki people with its promise of brighter tomorrows. Economic horizons

Venezuela's turmoil and Honduras' unrest cast shadows. Safety becomes a lifeline, the USA a
haven from the storm. With courage in their hearts, Dunki migrants journey through unknown
lands, seeking solace from Ecuador to the USA.

What are the routes of entry into the United States?
Dunki migrants seeking entry into the United States undertake challenging routes, often
crossing through various entry points and navigating distinct paths. Common routes include:
1. The Southern Border: Many Dunki migrants enter through Mexico's southern border, such as
the border crossing between Guatemala and Mexico. They then journey northward, facing
treacherous terrains and challenging conditions.
2. Rio Grande River: Dunki migrants often attempt to cross the Rio Grande River, which serves as
a natural boundary between Mexico and the United States. This crossing is perilous and fraught
with risks, as the swift currents and harsh conditions make it a dangerous route.

Sometimes an image is so powerful, it cuts through almost any noise.

That has happened with a graphic photograph of a dead man and child taken this week along
the U.S.-Mexico border by journalist Julia Le Duc.
The bodies of Salvadoran migrant Oscar Alberto Martinez Ramirez and his nearly 2-year-old
daughter, Valeria, lie on the bank of the Rio Grande in Matamoros, Mexico, on June 24, 2019
3. Southwestern Desert: Some Dunki migrants venture through the southwestern deserts, such
as the Sonoran Desert, which spans parts of Mexico and the southwestern United States. This
route presents extreme weather conditions, with scorching temperatures during the day and
freezing temperatures at night.
4. Coastal Entry Points: Dunki migrants may also attempt to enter the United States via coastal
regions, often using boats or other vessels to reach the shores of the USA.
