10th grade VA Comparative Study selection

Please read the instructions carefully. Use the provided examples as a reference.

 Select two art works which are connected by a similar subject matter or theme.
 Preferably both, but at least one should be made by a substantial / historical artist
 Be wise about your selection: Will you enjoy investigating it further ? Is there enough
contexts , both social and cultural, for you to investigate ?
 Are you able to select two works which are off-the-beaten-path ? Unusual and inventive
choices ? Or are you going to select two most mundane and predictable choices ?
 Compile the form and upload it at the MB dropbox by the end of the class. If your class is
cancelled, do this as a homework.
 If you screw this up, you will give an impression of you as an inept person, so please don’t
screw this up.
 If I have verbally approved your selection, still fill out the form, but use the class time to
research the context and purpose of the work.

What are the connections that bond the two selected art works..?
The connection both artworks have is that the second picture shows a creature from Greek mythology called “GRAIAI”.
They were born with grey hair and among each they shared one detachable eye and tooth. Once the hero called “Pereus” stole
their eye while looking for the creature called medusa (the first image). Both artwork included creatures from the Greek
mythology and were also considered to be creatures that seemed like villains.
