Venus in Aquarius Feb. 20-March 16, 2021
Mercury in Aquarius March 11-March 30, 2021.
Saturn in Aquarius April 29, 2022-April 12, 2022 and then retro back into Capricorn
Jupiter in Aquarius April 5, 2021-Sept 14, 2021; Nov. 20, 2021-April 29, 2022
Note: Aquarian Rising, Moon or Aquarian Sun Signs may relate to all the above and having the
lord of the chart in Aquarius may also create many of these strong tendencies.
We are starting to do the rotation into Aquarius with the Sun already in there and Venus moving
there on Feb. 20th and it will not be long before Jupiter goes in there. Happy to move out of the
death and suffering of Capricorn.
Aquarius is a sign of intensive karma and suffering as it is co-ruled by Saturn and Rahu and more
often Rahu becomes the top dog. It’s nature is thus more sorrowful and miserable filled with
ambition and desire and counter-balanced with humility and self-esteem issues. Planets in Aquarius
tend to have more karma and are tasked with discovering a new life and a new outlook for their
fellow societies. Aquarius is a fixed sign so it tends to be lazy and wants to keep things as they are.
Any planets connected in your chart or your varga charts connected to Aquarius can bring in karmic
bitterness and pain and tend to suffer.
Western astrologers may be correct in connecting the wild inventive energies of Uranus and
technology and inventiveness which can be embodied also a bit in Rahu’s independent and
rebellious energies. The nakshatras in Aquarius, Satabhishak (Aq 6.40-20.00) tend to excel in
technology and biotechnology and Purvabhadra (Aq. 20-Pisces 3.20) can create great scientists.
Saturn is the co-owner of the sign and brings with it the 12th house of Capricorn and thus also brings

fascination with death and the life-beyond and the quest for Moksha. On the darker side, it also
brings humility and self-esteem problems and may be too concerned with helping others and

you have Sun or Moon in Aquarians, one often would possess a brilliant mind and gentle natures 0

The Sanskrit name for Aquarius is Kumbha which means pitcher. The symbol of Aquarius is the man
with the pitcher. The iconography is a bit puzzling as the pitcher of Aquarius has water flowing out
from even though Aquarius is an air sign. On the level of esoteric astrology it is connected to the
Rishi Agastha who is symbolically holding his breath to usher in new civilizations and new
philosophies. Given where our world is now, all the upcoming movement into Aquarius over the
next year is welcome with Saturn moving in there May 2022. We think that will mark the end of the
Covid crisis.
Because Aquarius rising has the shortest rising time period of all the rising signs of the zodiac.
Aquarian rising people are less common and tend to make a larger impact on the world. Abraham
Lincoln, Karl Mark and J.P. Morgan are famous Aquarian souls.
The three nakshatras of this rising sign Dhanishta, Satabhishak, and Purvabhadra are connected to
Mars, Rahu and Jupiter and thus connect the sign to material prosperity and healing as well as quirky
energies. Saturn as the co-owner of the sign and brings in deep past life karma and Rahu gives the
sign an revolutionary and inventive and creative energy in technology and medical research.
Aquarians are major lovers of astronomy and astrology. The key to the sign for Aquarians is a need
to open up their spirituality in order to transcend the weighty material energies that technology can
bring.
If Saturn/Rahu is naturally afflicted, we normally think of this rising sign has having self-esteem
problems and not recognizing their own talents, being too unconventional and outspoken, having
problems with routine, being isolated and depressed, paranoid or hiding their misery behind a fake
smile. The Achilles heel for this rising sign is the 6th house Lord the moon and this sign has major
problems around their mother and issues around food, nurturing and the complexities of the mind.
The chart of Sri Ramakrishna’s, a famous Aquarius rising saint and his obsession with fasting and
Mother Divine, is a good example.
Aquarius rising tend to be independent and they do not seek advice and feel they are their own

advisors. With all the readings I have done, I probably have done only two or three Aquarius rising.

Aquarius has a neutral relationship with Jupiter who owns the 2nd and 11th house and bestows
money. Jupiter can give wealth but it does not satisfy them. It has a difficult relationship with Mars
owning the 3rd and 10th house and the moon, owning the 6th , offers the most challenges. Sun the
7th house ruler is an enemy to Saturn, therefore there are many relationship lessons to be learnt
from marriage or partnerships. Venus is a Raja Yogakaraka planet, who gives good success and is
very friendly with Saturn. Mercury is usually neutral it rules the 5th house but it also rules the 8th.
Virgo the mooltrikona for Mercury rules the 8th- so Mercury will give greater effect of the 8th house
than the 5th. Jupiter, Sun, Mars are the Maraka planets which means they cause death at that special
time or illness when not in a death period. .

The Badhaka sign for Aquarius is Libra, which rules the 9th house and Venus is the badhaka planet.

marriage. A key to Aquarius is that they must regularly tithe their gains in order to overcome 0
material pleasure and not get caught in sexual and sensual addictions. Badhaka is only a real
problem if 2 or more malefics are aspecting or impacting Libra or Venus but this is so often the
case. With Venus being so key here they have to balance their love of material comforts and
pleasure and good taste for fine living with philanthropic work. Being surrounded by art, culture and
music can feed their souls and the key is to balance humanitarian need with pleasure.
Aquarians and the Sun have a neutral relationship. With Leo connected to the 7th house they tend to
draw confidence by a co-dependent relationship with a partner as they are often too humble and
lacking confidence to be bold enough to move forth in their own life. This is particularly true if the
Sun is in Libra where they may be too absorbed in their relationship or with their Guru. Sun in Aries
can inspire them to higher philanthropic and humanitarian activities and their spouse can then
support them. They must stay away from the tempting energies of Venus and too much sexual
activity which may pull them from their higher causes.
Aquarians have a troubled relationship with the moon and frequently have major issues with their
mother as the 6th house moon means mother is an enemy. But it can give them deep empathy to do
service work for humanity and support the lower classed. If the moon is in Taurus, then they have a
huge heart which can move into deep emotional fights to serve humanity whereas moon in Scorpio
can lead to depression and frustration with martyrdom.
Mars and Saturn also have a difficult relationship. With Aries connected to the 3rd house and if Mars
is strong in the chart, Aquarians can find a lot of gusto and bravado to move into revolutionary
causes to serve their causes. Any affliction to Mars and they may be prone to being reckless. If
Mars is weak in the chart as in Cancer they may have health problems or lack the courage to move
into battle for their cause or question or deny their own personal strength. Mars does not bring
peace to Aquarians and will not face a smooth life and any affliction to Mars can bring down its
natural service energies and lead to frustration and quarrels and we know how difficult a frustrated
militant Aquarian can be when he fails to change society based on his vision.
With Mercury owning the 5th and 8th houses, they are naturally prone to philosophical, scientific and
astrological inquiries into the nature of the universe. Aquarians need to use their passion of the 5th

house and Gemini to find a profession that uses their intelligence and deep desire to understand the

Each sign has a bright side and a shadow sign. Aquarian can be a sign of spiritual significance and
many great leaders are born under this sign but if Rahu and Saturn are afflicted this sign, more than
many, can create deep suffering and frustration in life. For Aquarians to succeed, they need to serve
humanity and let the water flow out of the pitcher to benefit mankind.
Of course, each chart is unique and the strength and placement of Saturn and Rahu and their
associations will color Aquarius. Saturn or Rahu connected to Jupiter or Venus or Mercury will uplift
it and if Saturn or Rahu is placed in the 3, 6, 11th houses that will also help. As always consult a
