ESSAYS
1. The northbridge and southbridge starting the process. What computer level Hierarchy do you
think to enter that process. Defend your answers to which of those computer-level hierarchies has
good support for the processes? (15 pts)

2. What is the best computer architecture is the Von Neumann architecture or Non-Von Neumann
architecture. (7 pts)
3. What is the computer number system and why we need to study the computer number system?
(10pts)
4. What are the reasons why the IP address is separated by the dotted-decimal number? (12pts)
5. What is the digital logic system and why we need to study the digital logic system? (12pts)
6. Explain the importance of user registers and control registers in CPU processes? ( 22 pts)
7. What is the Operating system and why we need to study the Operating system? (22pts)

Answers:
1.For me I think its a control because north and south bridge is a part of hardware devices and it is
built in motherboard.
2.For me is the Von Nemann because you can store the data in a hard disk as easily and it is a volatile
storage meduim so you need a power to store it in a storage.
3. Binary, octal, decimal and hexadecimal. It is important to know those computer number system
because as a user we need to understand the language of computer for us to be aware what is the
meaning of those words so we can easily communicate with computers.
4. Because dotted decimal notation provides a convenient way to work with IP addresses when
communicating among humans and also for security purpose.
5.Digital Logic Systems are AND,OR,NAND,EX-OR and EX AND, It is used to create circuits and logic
gates, as well as to check computer chips, we need to study these to know the different covertion of
each logic systems and additional knowledge for our future professions.
6.Registers is temporary storage that only accessible outside the processesor the importance is you
can temporary store your data to it. Control register is the one who can control all the task and
functions in a CPU.
7.Operating system is a system software that handles or manage computer hardware. We need to
study this becuase it allows you to communicate with computer without knowing the computer
language, to solve if your os has a problem and to know how manage it appropriately.
