A short drive from Hanoi you will find one of Vietnam’s most important religious

Buddhist sites – The Perfume pagoda. It is a religious site as well as being a great
sight-seeing spot in Viet Nam. This pagoda is located in Huong Son Commune,
My Duc District, Ha Noi.
The Perfume Pagoda is a vast complex of Buddhist temples and shrines,
inclunding Den Trinh (also Presentation Shrine) and Thien Tru (Heaven Kitchen)
Pagoda, in the limestone Huong Tich mountain.
The centre of this complex is the Perfume Temple, located in Huong Tich Cavern.
The entrance to the huge and mysterious Perfume Pagoda and Huong Tich cave
resembles that of an open dragon’s mouth and is decorated with ancient Chinese
letters.
It is thought that the first temple was built on the current site of Thien Tru in the
15th century during the reign of Le Thanh Tong. The beauty of this pagoda has been
used as a theme of many famous song and a topic of lyric poetry
As one of the most important religious sites in Buddhist Vietnam, every spring
after the Vietnamese New Year, thousands of Vietnamese pilgrims come here to
pray for all the happiness and prosperity. It is truly one of th worthiest place you
must visit when you have a chance to come to Viet Nam.
