WHATEVER RADIO APP – USER MANUAL

In the mixer touchscreen monitor there is a mobile icon named WhatEverRadio.

This icon allows to access the WhatEverRadio APP.

When the icon is black and white the APP is not broadcasting:

If the color of the icon is green the APP is connected to the server and is
broadcasting:

If the icon is red the APP is active, but is disconnected and cannot reach the server:

Touch the icon to open the APP.

WhatEverRadio settings parameters

In the picture below you can see the APP stopped, disconnected form the server:
Push the setting icon to open APP settings:

IMPORTANT: When the APP is activated, connected and streaming you cannot
access the settings menu.

Settings button, touch it to return back to the main screen:

Audio Gain: sets the streaming audio gain in dB. Use this parameters in case the
input sound level from the mixer is low.

Server parameters: set the correct server parameters: IP address, username,

password and mountpoint to enable the connection to the streaming server. The
correct parameters will be provided.

Audio parameters: the following audio parameters set the audio streaming quality
transmission:

- Codec, sets audio transmission format, there are two possibilities:

OGG/OPUS with fixed samplerate at 48000Hz, or OGG/VORBIS with variable
samplerate (between 8000Hz and 48000Hz). Higher samplerate means higher audio
quality.

- Quality level: this parameter defines the sound quality. Can be set between
0.1 and 1 values. Higher quality level means higher bandwidth consumption. By
setting the value 1, the latency (the network transmission delay) will be less, than a
lower “quality level”, and even with a lower bandwidthn consumption.

- Extra buffer: with this parameter you can enlarge the capacity of temporary
storage of the audio to allow a better sound continuity in case of bad network
connections. It would be better to evaluate the setting of this parameters case by
case, because the Extra buffer activated increases the network delay.
Starting and stopping the audio transmission

In the main screen of the APP there is the yellow “Play” button:

By pressing the Play button, the APP (if is correclty configured and if the mixer is
connected to the Internet network) will connect to the streaming server, and the
button will change from “Play” to “Pause” like the following picture:

Further informations will be shown: “connected” status, connection time (very

usefull to know if there are disconnections in the audio, and to know how many
devices are listening the streaming).
The mobile icon “WhatEverRadio” now is green, and indicates that the mixer is
connected to the server. The icon remains in overlay always during the normal using
of the mixer, allowing to monitor constantly the streaming connection status.

To exit the APP push the “back” button on the mixer.
