Reading TAB in pieces

Yankee Doodle: This piece combines 1 beat and two beat notes. It also uses the E, B and G strings
so be careful when switching strings. The key is control before speed. Note the chords!

When the Saints go marching in: This piece is more tricky as is combines all types of notes, with rests - you will
probably need to look over your Rhythm and Beats sheet to get the hang with this one.
Also this piece introduces 'ties' which extend the note lengths to as much as 8 beats!
When you see a tie (a curved line over 2 notes) the first and second note join together to make one large note.
