Upgrading Magic and Alliant integrated systems for WAAS Compatibility
2. BACKGROUND
With the introduction of WAAS compatible navigation units, S-TEC has upgraded the Magic and Alliant STC’s to provide WAAS
approach capability. Avidyne has also upgraded its TSO’d EXP5000 Primary Flight Display. The upgrade requires the replacement
of the Magic ND (if applicable), a software upgrade of the Avidyne display (if applicable), and the upgrade of the digital autopilot.

4. PART NUMBER AND APPLICABILITY
(Refer to the attached table for applicable part numbers and approval status)
5. ACTION REQUIRED
MAGIC installations: Upgrades will require a factory software modification of the ND display to mod ‘H’ (or later) and a software
modification of the autopilot to mod ‘L’ (or later). Refer to the attached table for specific applicability.

Alliant installations: Upgrades consists of updating Avidyne displays to the latest revision and the S-TEC digital autopilot to mod L
software (or later). These aircraft include the King Air 200, King Air 90, and Cessna 441 series.

6. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Cost for each upgrade:
• WAAS compatible 01304, Mod L (or later): Dealer List=$1,895. Dealer Net=$1,495
• WAAS compatible MAGIC Navigation Display, Mod H (or later). Dealer List= $3,790. Dealer Net=$2,990 (cost covers both
displays)
