2. Stunting is a contributing risk factor to child mortality and is also a marker of inequalities
in human development. Stunted children fail to reach their physical and cognitive potential.
3. Children stunting are caused by combined effects of poor nutrition, repeated infection and
inadequate psycho-social stimulation. The complementary feeding period, generally
corresponding to age 6–24 months, represents an important period of sensitivity to stunting
with lifelong, possibly irrevocable consequences.
4. Contextual factors are organized into the following groups: political economy; health and
health care systems; education; society and culture; agriculture and food systems; and water,
sanitation and environment.
8.The country where is still prevalent of stunting children is in Burundi, in 2020 the case are
54% in there, and has been reduced in this year by 4% (50,9%)
9.Make sure that the country are stay on a good hygiene so that stunting can be prevented
because of clean surroundings
