what is?
Deforestation refers to the cutting down of a
forest, eliminating it completely, to make room
for something else in its place. The main cause
of deforestation is unsustainable and illegal
agriculture, which gives rise to cash crops
such as palm oil and rubber.
how does deforestation
affect?
The lack of forests causes the loss of
habitat for millions of species because,
according to some estimates, 70% of
animals and plants live in forests, and
contributes to climate change, wet soils
without the protection of trees dry
quickly.
consequences
Elimination of tree species.
Habitat loss.
Vulnerability to fires.
Climatic alterations.
Reduction of natural resources.
Impact on sustainable tourism.
what can we do to
solve it?
Plant a tree.
Do not use paper (or reduce its use).
Recycle and buy recycled products.
Look for FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification
on wood and products made with wood.
Eat vegetarian foods as much as you can.
