Support Package Manager


Support Package Manager (transaction SPAM) provides you with an easy and effective way of importing SAP Support Packages
into your system. You also need Support Package Manager in order to perform an SAP upgrade.

Support Package Manager is delivered and regularly updated with the Software Logistics Toolset (SL Toolset). For more

SAP Add-On Installation Tool


SAP Add-On Installation Tool (transaction SAINT) was developed to enable users to install and upgrade add-ons directly from
their SAP system. These add-ons can be Industry Solutions, plug-ins, or customer-speci c development projects. SAP offers
Precon gured Systems (PCS or SAP Best Practices) that can also be installed using SAP Add-On Installation Tool. A PCS
reduces the amount of work needed to install and customize an industry-speci c solution.

Subject to certain prerequisites, you can also use SAP Add-On Installation Tool to delete ABAP Add-Ons from the system.

SAP Add-On Installation Tool is delivered and regularly updated with the Software Logistics Toolset (SL Toolset). For more

Note Assistant
SAP Note Assistant is a tool that helps you while working with SAP Notes. An SAP Note is a set of instructions to remove known
errors from SAP systems. Once the SAP Note is uploaded to your system, you can implement the corrections (correction
instructions) contained in them automatically.

You can access Note Assistant tool using transactions SNOTE. You can also use the previous Note assistant tool by using
transaction SNOTE_OLD.

SAP Note Assistant tool has the following functionalities:

Searching: You can search valid SAP Notes for your system and download.

Reporting: You can view all existing SAP Notes, its processing status, and all implemented corrections.

Project Administration: You can assign SAP Notes to a user. The assigned user can specify a processing status. The
system then informs you whether an SAP Note has an inconsistent status.

Logging: The system logs all processing steps.

Correcting Errors: You can automatically implement the corrections or correction instructions contained in the SAP
Notes into your system.

Integration: The system recognizes which Notes are implemented by an imported Support Package or via an upgrade.
Additionally, checks which correction instructions are yet to implement.

The SAP Notes are categorized as:

SAP Notes that are assigned to you as a user.

All SAP Notes that are inconsistent, even if they are assigned to another user.

All SAP Notes that you've marked as your favorite.

Using the SAP Note Assistant tool, you can do the following activities:

You can search for SAP Notes that are valid in the system based on a speci c search criteria.

You can download SAP Notes using a connection to SAP Backbone. You can also load Notes from the SAP ONE Support
Launchpad and then perform an Upload.

You can nd any SAP Note in the system.

You can review SAP Notes and any changes made to the source code in ABAP programs and other repository objects.

You can check the implementation status of SAP Notes.

You can classify the SAP Notes and specify its processing status.

You can implement the correction instructions that are contained in the note and then remove them if necessary.

You can view the processing steps in the logs and add your own comments to the log.

You can switch to the modi cation browser, where you can see all the objects that have been corrected by an SAP Note.

You can use modi cation Assistant to perform follow up activities after importing a support package.

You can download current version of SAP Notes to ensure that you have the latest version of the SAP Notes.
