1. INS VARSHA
Indian navy is developing an underground NAVAL BASE
in the BAY OF BENGAL near VISHAKHAPATNAM ---------
INS VARSHA
INS VARSHA was constructed at RAMBILLI (village near
VISHAKHAPATNAM)
This trend was 1st started by SOVIET UNION [USSR]
during cold war with USA.

2. HOUTHI REBELS
The SUEZ CANAL joins the Mediterranean Sea with the
Indian Ocean via the RED SEA.

OPERATION PROSPERITY GUARDIAN –

 LAUNCHED BY – UK, Bahrain, Canada, France, Italy,
Netherlands, Norway, Seychelles and Spain
 IN ORDER TO – safeguard commerce in the RED SEA
 FUNCTION -The group will conduct Joint Patrol in the
SOUTHERN RED SEA & THE GULF OF ADEN
INDIA’s STAND – INS KOCHI & INS KOLKATA has been
deployed to the Gulf of Aden

DRONE STRIKE HITS INDIAN (MERCHANT) SHIP IN

INDIAN OCEAN:
Point of attack – 217 Nautical miles from coast of
Gujarat.
Name of ship – MV Chem Pluto (Israel affiliated ship)
Route : Saudi Arab -----to-----> Mangalore
ICGS Vikram was sent by the Indian Defence for rescue
MV C.P
 3. CHINA - NUCLEAR WEAPONS
XINJIANG PROVINCE – China tested its 1st atomic bomb
here in the year 1964 (Lop Nur).

4. AKASH AIR DEFENCE SYSTEM

It is a short-range missile – made in India.
India to export it to Armenia. (Brazil and Egypt has also
shown interest towards it).
Akash Air System is designed and developed by DRDO.
It has 360 degree Engagement Capabilities and
Advanced seekers.
Akash Air will be manufactured by BDL – Bharat
Dynamics Ltd.
The Akash System is already being used by the Indian
Armed Force and is also being offered for export to
VIETNAM & PHILIPPINES.
EXERCISE ASTRASHAKTI : Aakash Air defence missile
system destroys 4 targets simultaneously.
3 countries against it – Turkey, Azerbaijan & Pakistan.

5. INS Imphal (Destroyer) commissioned

Commissioned = full inclusion in the Indian Navy. Be a
complete part of the Indian Navy.
INS Imphal is the 1st warship to be named after a city of
NORTH EAST.
INS Imphal will join the WESTERN NAVAL COMMAND
(Mumbai).
INS Imphal is a Destroyer / Frigate.
India has a total of 12 Destroyers.
Indian Navy has 132 Warship (incl. 12 D).
1st Destroyer in India that will have BrahMos Missile in
it.
INS Imphal designed by INDIAN NAVY’s WARSHIP
DESIGN BUREAU & built by MAZAGON DOCK
SHIPBUILDERS Ltd.
It is the 3rd ship of VISAKHAPATNAM CLASS.
