stamps (hours, days, weeks, months and year) and with MAN Genuine Software, where

Activate SmartCard
For security reasons, MAN-cats® III SmartCards are supplied in a non-active status. Having
purchased SmartCards, a separate letter will be sent to you by post containing the workshop
administrator password (WAP) required for activating your SmartCards.

NOTE
The activated SmartCard can now be awarded to one of your employees by informing them
of the default password.
In order to manage your SmartCards within the workshop, the "SmartCard Manager" program
is available to download from the MAN After Sales Portal.
When logging in to MAN-cats® III for the first time, the SmartCard user must change the default
password to a new personal password.
Pay attention to the password guidelines in the MAN-cats® III user manual!

In addition to an activated SmartCard, so-called validity rights are required in order to work
with the MAN-cats® III testing and diagnostic software. These can be purchased in the Web-
Shop on the MAN After Sales Portal.

You can find the fingerprint on the front of your SmartCard beneath WIDxxxxxx.
The SmartCards listed here have been purchased by you, created by MAN Truck & Bus
and assigned to your company.

NOTE
The validity right is started upon completion of the purchase procedure and is limited according
to the period purchased.
The validity right is now available for the purpose of updating your SmartCard.
Active validity rights, as well as the remaining time and assignment to SmartCards, can be
viewed under the tab "My profile > Purchased company items".

Assign personal password and update SmartCard with purchased validity rights
After packages of validity rights have been purchased via the Web-Shop, these have to
be activated on the corresponding SmartCard. To do so, it is necessary to update the
SmartCard.
The SmartCard is updated automatically the next time the user logs into MAN-cats® III.
If a personal password has not yet been assigned for the SmartCard in question (step 1
and step 2), this will take place prior to the SmartCard update as described below.
The validity rights can be activated only with the SmartCard that was specified when
the purchase was being made.
