PALESTINA VS ISRAEL

The religious conflict between Palestine and Israel is a topic of great complexity rooted in
historical, cultural, and religious differences. To understand it, it is essential to explore the
foundations of the involved religions: Islam and Judaism.

Introduction

¿What is the religión of islamic and judaísm?

The Islamic religion is Islam, based on the Koran and the teachings of the prophet
Muhammad. Judaism is the faith of the Jewish people, centered on the Torah and other
scriptures, with a rich history and traditions. Both religions have distinctive practices,
beliefs and rituals.

¿How is created the estate of Israel?

1
The state of Israel was created on May 14, 1948. Its establishment was based on the
Declaration of Independence of Israel, proclaimed by David Ben-Gurion, the leader of the
Jewish Agency. The decision to create a Jewish state was supported by United Nations
General Assembly Resolution 181 in 1947, which recommended the partition of Palestine
into a Jewish state and an Arab state, with Jerusalem as a corpus separatum under
international control.

The proclamation of the state of Israel led to conflicts with surrounding Arab states,
marking the beginning of Israel's War of Independence. This conflict determined the initial
borders of the new state.

Development

Mains confrontations

Throughout history, there have been various clashes between followers of Islam and
Judaism, often linked to political and territorial conflicts. One of the most significant
conflicts is the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, involving Israelis (many of them Jews) and
Palestinians (mostly Muslims). This conflict has historical and religious roots, and has led
to numerous clashes, including wars and ongoing tensions in the region.

What is the Gaza Strip and why is it important?

The Gaza Strip is a coastal territory located in southwest Asia, on the eastern coast of the
Mediterranean Sea. It is a densely populated area and is part of the Palestinian territories.
The Gaza Strip has been the scene of significant conflicts, especially in the context of the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

It is important for several reasons:

2
1. **Conflicts:** The Gaza Strip has been the scene of numerous conflicts between Israel
and Palestinian groups, such as Hamas. The clashes have resulted in loss of life,
displacement and ongoing tensions in the region.

2. **Siege:** There have been restrictions and blockades imposed in the Gaza Strip,
affecting access to basic resources, services and the mobility of the population. This has
contributed to difficult conditions in the region.

3. **Refugees:** The Gaza Strip is home to a large number of Palestinian refugees who
have been displaced due to previous conflicts. The refugee situation is a critical issue in
the context of the broader conflict.

Who is Hamas and how did it influence the conflicts?

Hamas is a Palestinian political and military group that emerged in the 1980s. Its full name
is "Islamic Resistance Movement" in Arabic. Hamas has played a significant role in the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Below are some of his influences:

1. **Armed resistance:** Hamas has carried out armed resistance operations against
Israel, including rocket attacks and military activities. This has contributed to the
escalation of tensions in the region.

2. **Government in Gaza:** In 2007, Hamas took control of the Gaza Strip after clashes
with forces loyal to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. Since then, Hamas has ruled
the Gaza Strip de facto, while the Palestinian Authority, led by Fatah, is in control in the
West Bank.

3. **Rejection of recognition of Israel:** Hamas does not recognize the existence of Israel
and advocates the liberation of all of Palestine. This position has been an obstacle in peace
negotiations.

3
The presence and actions of Hamas have had a significant impact on the Israeli-Palestinian
conflict, affecting political and military dynamics in the region.

Conclusion

Currently, the conflict between Palestine and Israel persists, with tensions that have
evolved over time. Territorial disputes, armed conflicts, and the presence of key actors like
Hamas continue to fuel instability in the region. The quest for a lasting solution remains a
challenge, requiring dialogue, cultural understanding, and international efforts to address
the deep roots of this conflict entrenched in history and religion.
