SBI3UE Unit 1 Task Disorders PSA
SBI3UE Unit 1 Task Disorders PSA
Your Task: Research a condition/disorder related to one of the three major internal organ systems (Digestive
System, Circulatory System, Respiratory System). Create a Public Service Announcement (PSA) in the form of a
video (max 2 min) as a quick informative guide of the disorder for the system you picked. Your video should
have a general target audience and should use language that is easy to understand. Do not use overly
complicated terminology if you do not plan on explaining it in clear and concise language.
You can create/edit your video using any video creation program. A list of free options is available here:

You must use at least 2 appropriate sources of information and include a reference list (AS A SEPARATE TEXT
FILE) in your submission in APA format. Ensure your resources come from trusted, scholarly or academic sources.
Do not cite “health” blogs, personal websites, or companies trying to sell a product.
Some tips for your research phase:
• Use descriptive keywords in search engines (e.g. “ulcerative colitis treatments Canada”)
• You can use Wikipedia to learn about your topic, but you can’t cite Wikipeda (it is someone else’s work)
• Try using academic search engines such as the TDSB Library, Google Scholar or Toronto Public Library
• Always fact check and determine who the author of the content is, do this by opening a new tab and
seeing what others have to say about this source
• Be weary about websites like healthline.com, medicalnewstoday.com, etc. where content is written
without fact checking in efforts to bring in visitors to see their advertisements
• Look for independent or publicly funded organizations/charities from Canada
