LISTENING ACTIVITY

I stumbled upon the two objects in an old wooden chest that belonged to my late
grandmother. Nestled among yellowed letters and faded photographs, the first item
was a collection of stamps from various countries. Each stamp told a story of a
different place, a snippet of someone's life. The second object, carefully wrapped in a
piece of cloth, was a clay sculpture of an elephant. Intricately detailed, it seemed to
carry the weight of memories within its sturdy form.

As I explored further, I realized these items had come from my grandmother's

worldly adventures. She was an avid traveler, collecting stamps from every corner of
the globe. The clay elephant, she once mentioned, was a gift from an artisan she met
during a journey through India. These objects held immense importance to my
grandmother, serving as tangible reminders of the places she'd visited and the
connections she'd made. They represented her love for exploration and the diverse
cultures that enriched her life.

Now, as the custodian of these artifacts, I keep them in a small antique cabinet by
the window. The stamps are neatly arranged in an old album, and the clay elephant
stands proudly beside it. They've become a cherished part of my home, a testament
to the adventurous spirit that runs in the family.
