Shop Drawing Standards

Numbering settings
• Set main part mark as assembly mark (Critical for production purposes)

• Column Properties

Part Prefix m Assembly Prefix C Start number 100


• Beam Properties

Part Prefix m Assembly Prefix B Start number 100

Also acceptable to customize the assembly prefix to further itemize the assemblies i.e. rafter with
prefix R or mezzanine beam with prefix MB

• Plate/Flat Properties

Part Prefix f Assembly Prefix A Start number 100


• Avoid using any symbols as a separator (For CNC machine purposes)

• Allow 14 diameter breather holes all HD Galvanized steelworks as required

NC Files
• Create NC files with scribing (settings as shown) for Shafts
• Create NC/DXF files for Plates
Scribing
• Scribing settings (For CNC machine purposes)

• Scribing sample
Purlin Bundling
You may need to adjust how this is done to suit your system if you already use this field for
something else.

Purlin Bundle Reports


• Report template provided with package

PDF filename
• Correct filename sequence (For Fabsuite remote link purposes)
‘job no. – assembly or part number – revision number’

• Avoid using numbers for assembly/part prefix


Standard/Commercial Length
• All steel members should fit within standard lengths (critical)
• Where possible use plates at a flat size i.e. use 75mm wide plate instead of 70mm or 80mm

Miscellaneous
• Allow all flat strap bracing shown on engineering drawings with extra 500mm on each end.
And fix with 2x10 gauge Tek screws to each purlin.
