Transport, Delivery and Checking of

Goods Received

1.1 Transport

The absorption compressed air dryer is prepared for transport with a fork-lift truck. When
installing the dryer, move it with a fork-lift truck or another suitable device. The absorption
compressed air dryer must by no means be lifted at the compressed air inlet or outlet
connections. Severe damage may result from such handling. It is not allowed to tip the dryer
onto its side.

1.2 Delivery

The absorption compressed air dryer is thoroughly checked and packed, before it leaves the
factory. It has been handed over to the forwarding agent in perfect condition.

1.3 Checking at Receipt

Upon receipt please check immediately the packing for visible damage. In case of visible
damage of the packing, please insist upon a respective note on the delivery sheet of the
forwarding agent. Please also check the dryer for hidden damages. If an absorption
compressed air dryer is delivered with apparently undamaged packing but with hidden
damage, see to it, that the forwarding agent is informed at once and have the dryer
inspected.

The manufacturer is not responsible for damages occurred during transport.

Installation and Mounting

2.1 Installation

Installation standard: Straight and even floor, install with anchor bolts. and make “DB”

warning sign indoor for exhaust silence. (chart 1)

(chart 1)

2.2 Clearance

Keep more than 1 meter space to other equipments and the wall for ventilation and
maintenance (Chart 2).

(chart 2)

7
Blower Purge Adsorption compressed air dryer instruction manual

2.3 Location and Mounting

2.3.1 Please avoid the heat conducting and series flow, overload to single absorption air dryer if
there are several air dryers parallel installed in one room.

2.3.2 Please do avoid installing air dryer outdoor with solarization, drench, high temperature,
poor ventilation and dusty environment absolutely. (Chart 3, please contact ELITE AIR for
outdoor needed).

(chart 3)

Caution:
When installing the dryer ensure, all connections are even and no pressure is placed on inlet and outlet
connections.
Check all compressed-air connections to ensure, that they are firm and free of leaks.

2.4 Connection to the Compressed Air System

Please install by-pass valves above air inlet and outlet for convenience of maintenance, and
try to avoid long, curve, narrow pipelines to avoid pressure drop.

2.5 Power Supply

Pay special attentions to power supply:

 Rated voltage 士 5%. (chart 4)

(chart 4)

8
Blower Purge Adsorption compressed air dryer instruction manual

 Wire path-line size should be subject to the current and length. Do avoid too thin, too
long wire, which will lead the spontaneous combustion or voltage drop due to the
insulation aging of wire .(chart 5)

(chart 5)

 The power supply must have independent cabinet installed with leakage protection,
don’t share it for several dryers. And the fuse cann’t be instead by copper.(chart 6)

(chart 6)

 It’s prohibited to connect wire or lead wire, otherwise, it may cause voltage drop and
out-of-operation of the air dryer. Please do equip with reliable earth wire. (chart 7)

(chart 7)

9

2.6 Set an Air Compressor Station

2.6.1 Please install High Efficiency Oil Removal Filter before the absorption air dryer in order

to avoid pollution to the sorbent which would causing its invalidation; and install Air Line

Filter behind the absorption air dryer so as to avoid pollution to downstream pipeline by the

dust from sorbent abrasion.

2.6.2 The inlet air must be under the rated range of the nameplate. The absorbent would be

seriously deteriorated should oil or liquid water enters into the towers, its life would be

shortened should oil mist enters to the air dryer, or it would be “poisoned” and lost the

adsorptive capacity.

2.6.3 The recommended installation:

(chart 8)

 Install Air Receiver to keep stable airflow and reduce the gas turbulence of pipeline.
 Install Air Line Filter and Refrigerated Air Dryer to remove most of the water, ensure
the adsorptive capacity of sorbent as well as the air quality of air inlet and outlet of the
absorption air dryer.
 Install High Efficiency Oil Removal Filter to remove the oil mist for preventing sorbent
from “poisoning”, in this way to protect the sorbent and prolong its life.
 Install By-pass Pipeline for maintenance and replacing to the filter element.
 Open the by-pass valve and close the inlet and outlet valve to avoid water fault by the
overloading of sorbent, when the absorption air dryer is stopped for a long time.

How It Works?
3.1 Blower purge Absorption Air dryer

3.1.1 The first half work cycle:

3.1.1.1 Adsorb and heat regenerate stage: Wet saturated compressed air enters to Tower
A through butterfly valve (V01) of A tower passing by the pre-filter (oil removal air filter) for

absorption and drying, then, the dried compressed air being exhausted to air outlet passing
by the butterfly valve (V05) and then though the dust filter. Meanwhile, the blower inhale
ambient air to the heater, the heater heat the inhaled air to the setted temperature, passing
by butterfly valves (V12) and (V08), enters to tower B for desorption to the absorbent to let it
dry and regenerate. Finally exhausts to atmosphere through butterfly valve (V04). (chart 9)

(chart 9)

11
Blower Purge Adsorption compressed air dryer instruction manual

3.1.1.2 Adsorb and cooling stage: The blower and heater would stop working after the heating
and regeneration stage, about 2% dried compressed air enters to Tower B for desorption and
cooling to the adsorbent through restriction orifice after it’s decompression, by passing the
butterfly valves (V09) and (V08). Finally exhausts to atmosphere through butterfly valve (V04).
(chart 10)

(chart 10)

3.1.2 The second half work cycle:

3.1.1.1 Adsorb and heat regenerate stage: Wet saturated compressed air enters to Tower
B through butterfly valve (V02) of A tower passing by the pre-filter (oil removal air filter) for
absorption and drying, then, the dried compressed air being exhausted to air outlet passing
by the butterfly valve (V06) and then though the dust filter. Meanwhile, the blower inhale
ambient air to the heater, the heater heat the inhaled air to the setted temperature, passing
by butterfly valves (V12) and (V07), enters to tower A for desorption to the absorbent to let it
dry and regenerate. Finally exhausts to atmosphere through butterfly valve (V03). (chart 11)
