    MEC3105 Dynamic Systems Engineering

    Project: Part II - Due Last Teaching Week of the Semester

    Title: Design and Simulation of a Dynamic Engineering System

    Objective: To be able to design, model and simulate the system presented


    in Project I.

    Activity: During Part I of the project assignment, and in groups of two or


    three, you identified, isolated, and described an engineering
    system (a dynamic one). You also attempted to build a
    functioning model of the system. However, during presentation,
    most models did not work very well; principally because they
    were inadequately designed.

    For the rest of the Semester, you are required to design a more
    realist version of the system. Be sure to utilize the knowledge
    and skills that you have acquired throughout the B. Sc. Mech.
    programme such as engineering mechanics, fluid mechanics,
    CAD, theory of machines, engineering materials and machine
    design.

    In addition, you are required to use the principles and


    techniques from MEC3105 to derive a model of the system,
    write an appropriate code to simulate its behavior.

    Submission: Submit a report of your work neatly word-processed with


    appropriate CAD drawings, design calculations, BOQs, computer
    code and simulation results.
