Purposes of suctioning 抽痰的目的

Remove secretions that obstructed the airway.

移走阻塞氣道的分泌物

Facilitate ventilation. 促進通風

Decrease breathing effort. 减少呼吸阻力

Increase tissue oxygenation.

Collect secretions for diagnostic investigations.

Equipment for suctioning 抽痰的装备

Suction unit 抽痰装置

Suction force for adult: 100 – 120 mmHg

Change the suction bottle if around 70% full to prevent overfill.

Suction catheters 吸導管

Check the expiry date and integrity of packing. 日期和包裝完整

Help the client to stop bleeding first.

帮客户止血

Use a gauze pad and apply firm pressure on the puncture site

for at least one minute. 用纱布垫住伤口用力压最少 1 分钟

Apply pressure for longer time for client with bleeding

tendency.

如果持续出血，则继续按压

Make sure the bleeding is stopped completely before leaving

the client. 必须完全止血才离开客户

Assess client's condition if abnormal reading is obtained.

如果血糖读数异常，评估客户的状况

Dispose the used lancet to the sharps box.
