1. Introduction/Background
X's Quality function has more than 100 employees who are
undergraduates (X, XII, DIPLOMA). With the emerging technologies and
evolution in Manufacturing and Quality there is going to be a need for
trained and ready professionals with a growth mindset.
Therefore, it is critical to ensure younger and more qualified workforce is
introduced in the system.

2. Business Case
We propose to Build an Aspirational Mindset through introducing a
workforce that is qualified (graduates) and enhance their scientific
capabilities thereby making them the ready for organization’s growth
while adding value to the individual’s qualifications. This will encourage
the ensure that we have a robust quality function and also promote a
long-term dedication to the organization.

3. Proposed Solution(s)

a. Introduction of Solution
2-year M.Sc. Applied Chemistry Program, at MT University Campus, Site
B
(AICTE Approved)
• The program would be a work integrated learning program covering
aspects around Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical
Chemistry, Spectroscopy, and Green Chemistry.
• Batch Size: Preferred Batch size of 30-40 candidates
• Proposed Site: Sikkim
• Application – To be sourced from A, B, and Csites.

b. Application of Solution
• Eligibility Criteria:

Proposed Eligibility Criteria


Minimum Qualification B.Sc. Pass (Minimum 60%)
Mobility Candidate must be willing to move to site B for 2 years

This will be the initial screening of eligible employees. All those who fit in the
above criteria will undergo Stage 2.

Stage 2: Online Assessment


Online Assessment will consist of below aspects:
• Psychometric Assessment
• Quantitative Ability
• Logical Ability
• English Comprehension
• Functional Knowledge [Testing knowledge of chemistry]

Employees who clear the above assessments with the minimum scores needed
will undergo Stage 3.

Stage 3: Personal Interview


There will be panel interviews held by Site HR Head, Site HRBPs, and Site/Unit
Quality Heads.

• Mode of Delivery
➢ Instructor Led Sessions in-person session at MT University Campus, Site B
o Since it will be a work integrated program employees who are
selected will have to undergo instructor led sessions of
▪ 2 hours every day after Shift 1
▪ 8 hours each on two non-working Saturdays

➢ In the event of an unforeseen condition disabling candidates from


attending the in-person sessions, arrangements to be made for virtual
sessions.

➢ Lab Assessment
Multiple modes of assessments:
1. Partnering local universities
2. X's Manufacturing Set up.
3. Virtual Labs
4. Campus Immersion at Manipal

➢ Candidates must ensure 80% attendance throughout each semester.


➢ At the end of 2 years – Candidates passing with certain aggregate %age
of marks will be given a cash prize. [Percentage cut-off and cash prize
amount to be decided later]

4. Expected Band and Salary Progression


➢ Candidates will join the organization in Band A I as M.Sc. Trainee and will
be confirmed after completion of 1 year into Band B II.
➢ Salary for the candidates will follow the organizational benchmark for Off-
campus B.Sc. hires for both trainee and confirmed status.

5. Required Support / Future Direction


➢ Candidates from different site regions to be sourced and sent to site B for
the program.
➢ RC/Guesthouse/Hostel facility to be arranged for the entire duration of
the program.
➢ Bus facility to be arranged for candidates from RC/Guesthouse/Hostel to
Sites to MT Campus and back to RC/Guesthouse/Hostel.
➢ Candidates enrolled in this program must work in Shift 1 only for the entire
duration of the program.

6. Terms and Conditions


➢ The cost of the entire program will be borne from the Central Quality
budget.
➢ If any candidate drops out of the program midway, the organization must
be compensated for the entire cost of the program for the individual.

7. Results / Conclusion
This entire intervention will help in creation of skilled and purpose fit Talent for the
organization and in return will help build an aspirational mindset of the existing
employees.
It will also lead to stickiness of the high potentials with the organization.
