Because our obedience will not only bring God’s blessings on us, but also on those surrounded us.
Our obedience to the Lord should be personal and voluntary, and not subject
to the circumstance or the people. Sometimes the danger is we tend to do
things because others are doing. Abraham's obedience was voluntary, and it was
motivated by his love for God, and faith in God and His Word.
So should our obedience be; a voluntary, out of our love and faith, and not out
of compulsion or pressure, or because of someone, but because we love God
and want to please Him.
Though Abraham did not knew where he is going to, he trusted God all
the way and accepted God’s will and direction in his life and precisely obeyed
the Lord for the calling he had.
God still guides and leads us as a good shepherd, we need to trust and follow
Him, Job 23:10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I sha
come forth as gold. The journey may be tu , the paths may be rugged, the
breezes may be hot, the sky may be cloudy but remember 'though I walk
through the va ey of the shadow of death, I wi fear no evil: for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy sta they comfort me’ His rod and sta will guide and lead us.
God is delighted more with our obedience to Him and His Word than the
sacri ces we bring.
That means; if the sacri ces we bring should be acceptable and pleasing to
Him, we should make sure that our ways and heart is pleasing to Him rst.
Remember: Our sacri ces are not our BRIBES; neither they are an
ALTERNATIVE to our obedience to God.
How we respond to God and His Word is more important than what we
bring to Him. The later part (our bringing of o erings) are blessed when
our primary heart is right with God.
Even as the song says: ‘trust & obey, for there’s no other way to be happy in
Jesus, but to Trust and Obey.’
