SECTION – D: WRITING

1. A. The annual examination results have been declared and you found out that you have secured
first division but your closest friend was unsuccessful. Write a diary entry IN 100-120 words
about how that made you feel and what you think would help to motivate him/her to work harder
and try for a re-examination. 4 MARKS
OR
B. You recently participated in the All India CBSE National Quiz Competition and reached the
finals. The final round was telecast over the national channel where you and your team won the
quiz. Describe your feelings in 100-120 words through a diary entry.

2. A. You are Ram G, a member of NGO AWAAZ. Write a letter to the editor of a national daily
for a public movement to clean the Yamuna river. (You must introduce yourself, describe how
the people are to be blamed for polluting the river and suggest the need for installing water
treatment plant to clean the river). in not more than 100-120 words. 4 MARKS
OR
B.You are Arun Mahdevan. Write a letter to the Dean of Indira Gandhi National Open
University enquiring about the Mass Communication courses, in not more than 100-120 words.

C. What does it mean to be marooned? Why was Ben Gunn marooned?

D. Tides are called ‘ebb’ and ‘flow’.What are differences between these two tides?
