The Unbelievable night

Topic no.4

It was a cold, quiet Friday night. My friends and I went on a camping trip to go watch the
solar eclipse and the stars. We were walking in the woods as the sun was going down, the
freezing air feeling like burns as we inhaled the woodsy air and as we exhaled the clouds of
steam escaping from our mouths. Our ears filled with the stunning sounds of the birds
chirping, making music like lullabies. Our eyes, blessed by the gorgeous greenery and the tall
trees towering over us like giants.
As we were walking, the sound of the leaves crunching under our feet grew more and more.
The sun made different shades of orange as it set. We stopped for a second to take pictures of
the mesmerizing sight above us, you could slowly notice how the stars were coming through
and the moon was at its full moon stage and all the crater wholes that are left on it. The
purple and blue started to shine through the sky as it started to get later into the evening, what
a wonder it certainly was. Everyone was standing in awe as we were staring up into the sky.
There were truly no words for the sight of our amazing sky.
We walked for about three kilometers until we had finally reached our destination at the edge
of the large rocky cliff. We started to set up our camping ground, the air around us was
freezing as if we were in the north pole so we set up a campfire. We all packed chairs around
the cozy campfire and it felt like a warm hug wrapping around you. The woody sent of the
burning fire and the way it lit up the atmosphere was astonishing. We started making s’mores
and the smell swirled through my nose and gave me shivers down my spine. As I bit into the
s'more, all the flavors melted in my mouth like heaven on earth.
The eclipse was finally coming near. We are put our chairs in a line at the edge of the cliff
and we got our cameras ready, the stars were big, bright and beautiful, a sight I wish
everyone could see. The eclipse was truly captivating.as the sun was going over the moon it,
it was truly a sight to see. We all sat there in awe as the sun was engulfing the moon and the
black crescent was going over it. Unfortunately, the sight didn’t stay long. It felt like I was
completely at peace the way everything was quiet and relaxing, I never wanted to leave my
seat.
It was finally time for bed, and I was laying there in my sleeping bag, the calming sounds of
the wind and trees led me to a refreshing and peaceful sleep. Once it was morning, we all sat
outside watching the sunrise with its gorgeous red, yellow and orange lighting up the sky. We
were drinking hot chocolate with marshmellows, and it was so delicious. We took some
pictures of the beautiful colours in front of us. Then the fact hit me that we are going home
today.
