👇 I have just received my IELTS results, and I am delighted to announce that I have achieved an impressive overall
band score of 8. I am immensely grateful to the individuals in this group whose insightful posts and guidance
contributed significantly to my success. It is worth mentioning that I embarked/boarded on my IELTS preparation
journey solely/just through the resources available on YouTube and Facebook. This experience has solidified my
belief that it is entirely feasible/possible to prepare for the IELTS without the need for offline coaching. Allow me to
elaborate on how I effectively utilized YouTube and Facebook to enhance my preparation.

Listening: Among the four modules, listening was undoubtedly my strongest suit. Instead of relying heavily on
various tips and tricks, I focused primarily on extensive practice. Initially, I encountered some difficulties with lengthy
multiple-choice questions and maintaining concentration throughout the entire listening section. However, I adopted a
proactive approach to address these weaknesses. I found that listening to podcasts and engaging in regular practice
significantly bolstered/boosted my ability to overcome these challenges. To further refine my listening skills, I
committed to taking two listening tests per day on the Banglay IELTS website, as I intended to sit for the computer-
based exam. This rigorous/Hard /difficult routine spanning/crossing 15 days before the actual test immensely/vastly
improved my attentiveness and overall performance in the listening section.

Reading: At the outset of my IELTS journey, I held the misconception that the reading module would be the most
daunting/scary. This belief was reinforced by the struggles many test takers face in this section. However, as I
delved /explode into practicing with the Cambridge reading tests, my perspective shifted. Gradually, my confidence
grew as I consistently found correct answers for passages 1 and 2. Nevertheless, I faced considerable/huge difficulties
with passage 3, specifically in the areas of heading and name matching, as well as multiple-choice questions. There
were instances where I even contemplated/intendent skipping passage 3 altogether. Fortunately, I discovered
invaluable videos by Asad Yakub and Banglay IELTS, which provided me with essential strategies to navigate these
challenges. Writing: The writing module proved to be my greatest challenge, considering my background as a
student from a Bangla medium educational system. Having recently completed my twelfth grade, I had limited
experience in writing extensively/widely in English, resulting in a lack of fluency in freehand writing. To address this
weakness, I immersed /deep myself in extensive reading, devouring five passages every day, followed by dedicated
writing practice. I found invaluable guidance in the instructional videos provided by "IELTS Advantages," which not
only clarified the intricacies/details of Task 2 writing but also simplified the process for me. Initially, I held the
misconception that achieving a good band score required the excessive use of uncommon vocabulary and a complete
overhaul of every word. However, the "IELTS Advantages" channel enlightened/educated me on the art of writing
exceptional essays using simple yet effective language. For Task 1, I relied on the informative videos and sample
writing provided by "IELTS Liz" as my primary source of guidance and instruction.
Speaking: When it comes to the speaking module, I dedicated less time compared to the other modules. I found the
resources provided by IELTS Advantage to be helpful in guiding my preparation for this module. As a student from a
Bangla medium background, I initially lacked confidence in speaking and struggled to use fancy words and idioms
correctly. To practice, I utilized the Cambridge speaking tests available on the Banglay IELTS website. I recorded my
voice during these practice sessions and reviewed them afterward to identify and correct any mistakes. It's a common
misconception that using fancy words and idioms are necessary to achieve a high band score in speaking. However, I
want to emphasize that I scored a 7 without using a single idiom throughout my entire test. I simply focused on
communicating effectively, as I would when be speaking to someone I know. Rashid bhai, I want to express my
gratitude for your website. Without it, I would not have been able to achieve my desired results. At one point, I even
felt that I had wasted my money on buying Cambridge books because I solely relied on practicing through your
website. Thank you for providing such valuable resources. If anyone has any inquiries about any module and specific
type, I am open to answering them to the best of my abilities. Please feel comfortable to ask any questions you may
have.
