Art Processes, Elements,

New Technologies
Hello dear learners, do you have any idea on what to learn today? Do you
believe in the saying that no two things are exactly the same or may look perfectly
alike? Yes, just like us. When God created man, He patterned him after His image and
likeness but still we are not like Him. Even brothers and sisters coming from the same
father and mother don’t look alike or may be alike in some features only. This is
because we are unique in our own way. We differ from one another in looks, in size,
in shape, in color, and even in movement but just the same, we are all humans created
by God. Like arts, they differ from one another. There are different kinds of processes,
elements, and principles too. So, what are you waiting for? START LEARNING NOW!

What I Need to Know

What’s In

Many things in life come from small objects but with love, care, and hard work,
something is produced.
Can you name some objects seen around that come from almost nothing or
very small things growing big, beautiful, and useful to man?
Draw them in your activity notebook.

2
What’s New

Directions: Read the short poem about shapes.

Shapes
A square was reading quietly
Outside his rectangular house
When a running triangle
Suddenly hit him his back.
“Help! I’m bleeding,
I need to go to doctor!’
Just on time for a strolling circle
Who willingly helped
And gallantly took him there.

● Let us try to draw the different shapes found in the poem either hand-drawn or
digitally- made through the use of paint program that can be found in your
computer or gadgets like smartphone and tablet. Apply the elements and
principles of arts.

What is It

Seeing beautiful things around us make us aware of the importance of art

elements and principles in our life. It inspires us to create things and places using our
own imagination.
Line is a point or a dot drawn continuously, it can be either straight or curve
line. When group together, it produce a beautiful picture. By using the right lines and
putting them into the point of emphasis, balance, or proportion, we can form a
wonderful figure or composition.
Shapes are made when both ends of lines meet or close. Form is another term
for shape.
The different surface qualities of the objects is what we call texture. Texture
adds beauty and magic to the things seen in our daily life. It can be seen and felt in
natural objects and in art works.
Many things around us show patterns of movement, our life itself is a pattern.
Rhythm is a principle of art which deals with regular, uniform, and related movement
of lines, forms, shapes, and texture.
Logos are images, texts, shapes, or a combination of the three that depict the
name and purpose of a business, product, trademark, etc.
Before the widespread introduction of new technologies, most artists expressed
their creative ideas through paper and pen (hand-drawn) but at present, designers
may now create symbols directly and immediately through digital process.

3
