Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a Data Analyst to join our team at Galactic Advisors. The
Data Analyst will be responsible for writing SQL queries, procedures and
developing Power BI dashboards. They will also obtain hands-on experience in
being a part of the growing Data Analytical team at Galactic Advisors and should
have experience working on complex technical or architectural design. As the Data
Analyst, your primary responsibility is to gather, organize, and analyse data to
provide valuable insights and support data-driven decision-making within the
organization. Your role will involve working with various types of data, such as
numerical, textual, or qualitative, to help identify patterns, trends, and correlations
that can inform business strategies and operations.
Responsibilities:
• Collect, organize, and clean data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and
reliability.
• Analyse large and complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and insights
related to the markets we operate in, our customers' purchasing behaviour, and
general industry trends.
• Create and maintain visually appealing and insightful reports and dashboards
to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Work closely with the team to identify market / product growth opportunities,
enhance operational efficiency, and support decision-making processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive data-
driven strategies for our business.
• Continuously monitor data quality and identify opportunities for
improvement.
Qualifications:
• Degree or certification(s) in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or
similar quantitative disciplines.
• 1-3 years of experience with a strong interest in the industry and its potential
for growth.
• Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and
formulas.
• Outstanding skills in Microsoft BI technologies with intimate knowledge of
Power BI.
• Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to derive meaningful insights from
complex datasets.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized, capable of managing and analysing
large volumes of data.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey
data-driven insights to non-technical stakeholders. E.g., talking out a
spreadsheet's dashboard.

Data analysts employ various sampling techniques, including Random Sampling, where samples are
randomly selected from the entire population; Stratified Sampling, which involves dividing the population
into subgroups and sampling from each subgroup; Systematic Sampling, choosing every kth element after
a random starting point; Cluster Sampling, where entire groups are randomly selected; and Convenience
Sampling, selecting easily accessible samples.

13. Explain the main steps involved in data analysis?


The key steps in data analysis include defining the problem or objective, collecting relevant data from
various sources, cleaning the data to ensure accuracy and reliability, exploring the dataset for patterns and
trends, applying analytical methods to derive insights, interpreting the results, and finally, visualizing and
presenting findings to stakeholders.

14. Explain data validation and the main steps involved?


Data validation is the process of ensuring data accuracy and reliability. The steps include Data Entry
Validation, ensuring correct data entry at the point of capture; Data Processing Validation, verifying data
during processing to identify errors; Data Output Validation, confirming accuracy in the final results.
15. How much will you request per hour if you are hired?
My salary expectations are aligned with the industry standards for a role of this nature, considering the
responsibilities outlined. However, I am open to discussion and negotiation based on the overall
compensation package, benefits, and other relevant factors associated with the position. I am confident
that we can find a mutually beneficial arrangement.
Your day-to-day responsibilities of the role will include:

• Apply your analytical skills and general business knowledge to identify cost
savings opportunities for clients.
• Using the company’s proprietary software applications, conduct financial,
utility and business analysis of clients’ operations, and initiate action to obtain
cost savings for clients.
• Interface with clients, utility companies, tax authorities, regulatory authorities
and government agencies to obtain appropriate information to successfully
implement savings opportunities.
• Match details in complex utility tariff codes against our clients’ usage and
practices to identify new savings.
• Working knowledge of one or more Programming skills: R, Python, SQL, are
required.
