3 Intended use
The system is an assistance system and supports operators during manual activities in production. It
identifies the operator's hand and recognises whether picking and handling processes are being done
correctly.
w ifm mate consists of several components. The individual components may only be used
together as a system and not individually. GB
w The individual components of the system have a fixed definition. Third-party components
must not be added to the system.
w A monitor is necessary for the intended use (ideally with touch panel). A monitor is not
included in the scope of delivery. A monitor can be ordered optionally.

The operator's workflows can be flexibly defined. The system checks whether the work processes are
being carried out correctly.
During the familiarisation process, instruction videos can support the operator via the monitor.

6 Mounting
The individual components of the system are mounted as shown:
• the camera above the working area,
• the monitor is at the operator's viewing height and outside the camera's detection range,
• the IPC below the working area.
GB
Mounting the camera above the working area
The camera is mounted above the working area if the following aspects apply:
• the picking and handling areas are arranged next to each other,
• the detection range is limited to the working area.
3 4
The operator must not cover the picking and handling areas.
