Interiority – process of deepening your relationship with a supreme being.


Truth – relation of conformity between the mind and the thing being known after
investigating it.
Community – a group of individuals whether related by blood or not, bound by
same purposes, circumstances or context.

Critical – leads to new knowledge/ discovery


Thinking – analysis, detailed thorough, in and out of the box
Purpose -> Search for answer -> finding the reason
Adult hears proclamation decides to be baptized
4th century – Life of St. Augustine – Children to be baptized
Today, adult and child can be baptized by choice or by parents/ family.

When in doubt, reserve judgment.


Faith seeking understanding.

For the Good of the community -> Common Good (a social responsibility)
N.T. -> Lord’s Day – Sunday (Resurrection)
O.T -> Sabbath Day – Saturday

Spirituality – essence of the spirit (soul) that includes all beliefs and practices.
Theology – Greek: Theos (GOD) and Logos (words about / study)
Religiosity – expression of one’s belief in practices
Canonization – process of which a church declares a person a saint.

SBNR – the belief of self-identity as they know and give importance to their
spiritual philosophy and moral values in which religion is not seen as the primary
approach or practice to improve one’s spiritual development.
RBNS – the one who believes that religion is the main path to be spiritual. They
attend religious meeting and sessions and practices their religious routine but
don’t have the moral values.
Both R and S – saints in the making.

1. Augustinian spirituality – St. Augustine
2. Dominican spirituality – scholastic
3. Jesuit spirituality – Santo Papa / Holy Pope
4. Apostolic spirituality – preaching the good news

5. Christian spirituality – Catholic (Greek: katholikos -> Universa / universal)

c) Understanding the signs of the times (currently happening in our contemporary
history and it gives meaning to exercising our faith.)
