Introduction:
During the recently concluded 58th All India Conference of Director Generals/ Inspector generals of
Police in Jaipur, Rajasthan, Prime Minister addressed a wide variety issue pertaining to policing and
internal security o India. The conference, which was conducted in a hybrid format, addressed key
issues like Cyber Crime Policing and Technologies Counter Terrorism Challenges Left Wing
Extremism Prison Reforms. In this respect, the speech by the Prime Minister underscores some
important points which emphasize on a change in paradigm of criminal justice system, police
transformation and specific recommendations for police reforms.
Citizen-Police Connect:
To tighten the bondage between civilians and police, pm has recommended conducting sports
competitions have also appreciated by recommending government officials to stay in border villages.
They are aimed at strengthening relations with the local residents and building trust as a factor of
social cohesion.
The Prime Minister challenged the Indian police to become a sophisticated, globally respected force
in accordance with India’s global ambitions. The aim is to help fulfill the dream of advanced India

The police stand to develop a major trust gap with the community that affects cooperation and
information sharing. The public’s cynicism is caused by high-profile instances of misconduct, which
require a focus on rebuilding trust through transparency and accountability.
Extrajudicial Killings:
The skyrocketing number of extrajudicial killings requires immediate action. Only by providing clear
legal framework and adhering to human rights principles will it be possible not only to prevent misuse
of power but also guarantee accountability.
Conclusion:
The solutions to the problems of India’s police force must include legal reform, training programs and
measures aimed at controlling over it. The Prime Minister’s focus on citizen-centric, technology
driven and globally competitive policing carves out a path for change. Through concerted efforts,
policymakers need to work with police enforcement agencies and civil societies in order for them
