Iligan City Division Celebrates Teachers' Day with Grandeur and Appreciation

On October 4, 2023, the La Salle Academy Gymnasium in Iligan City, hold a


spectacular celebration as the Iligan City Division came together to honor the
dedicated educators shaping the future of the community, headed by the esteemed
Schools Division Superintendent Jonathan S. dela Peńa, PhD. The event took on an
extra layer of significance as it showcased the unwavering support of the Iligan City
Government led by Mayor Frederick W. Siao. The generosity of Mayor Siao was evident
through the distribution of fabulous prizes, a heartfelt gesture to express the city's
gratitude for the hard work and commitment of its teachers.
Adding an inspiring touch to the celebration was the presence of Director
Arthuro B. Bayocot, the Regional Director of DepEd Region 10, who graced the
occasion as the Quest Speaker. Director Bayocot's keynote address resonated with the
audience emphasizing the pivotal role educators play in shaping the minds of the
youth and contributing to the overall development of society. His words served as a
powerful reminder of the importance of recognizing and appreciating the tireless
efforts of teachers.
The event brought together a diverse array of participants, including Public
Schools District Supervisors, School Heads from both Elementary and Secondary
levels, and selected Public School Teachers. The notable presence of Iligan City Mayor
Frederick W. Siao and City Councilor Queenie Belmonte highlighted the city's
commitment to fostering education. The celebration reached its pinnacle with a special
intermission featuring the Champion Diyandi Festival performers from Tomas Cabili
High School, led by School Head Bernie Lubguban. The cultural richness displayed
during the intermission underscored the city's vibrant heritage and served as a fitting
tribute to the educators who contribute to the tapestry of Iligan City's academic
landscape.
