FILIPINO VALUES MONTH CELEBRATION

In the Philippines, the month of November is celebrated as the Filipino Values Month. It is a time when
the nation comes together to honor and promote the core values that define the Filipino identity. This
year, the theme for the Filipino Values Month celebration is "Matatag na Edukasyon, Matatag na Karakter
Moral: Kaakibat ng Maayos na Kinabukasan ng Bawat Pilipino" (Strong Education, Strong Moral
Character - Integral to a Bright Future for Every Filipino). Education has always been highly valued in
Filipino culture. It is seen as the key to unlocking opportunities, improving lives, and building a better
future. The theme of "Matatag na Edukasyon" emphasizes the importance of providing quality education
to all Filipinos, regardless of their background or social status. It highlights the need for a strong
educational foundation that equips individuals with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to
succeed in life. Alongside a solid education, the theme also emphasizes the significance of "Matatag na
Karakter Moral" or strong moral character. In a rapidly changing world, it is crucial for Filipinos to uphold
and practice ethical values such as honesty, integrity, respect, and compassion. These values not only
shape individuals but also contribute to the overall well-being and progress of society. The celebration of
Filipino Values Month encourages various activities and initiatives that promote the theme such as
Updating the bulletin board depicting the theme; Slogan Contest for Grades 2 and 3 learners; Poster
Making Contest for Grades 4 to 6 learners; Larong Lahi; Watching Videos with Filipino Values; Building
Christmas Decor Contest and Gift Giving.

All the recommended school activities under the Department of Education were still
accomplished with the given guidance and leadership of the acting school principal, Junily B.
Superales, who strictly imposed the Division Memorandum 496, s. 2023 in the observance of
Filipino Values Month. These activities aim to instill in Filipinos the importance of upholding and
practicing positive values in their daily lives. Furthermore, the theme highlights the connection between a
strong education and a bright future for every Filipino. By emphasizing the integral role of education and
moral character in shaping the nation's future, the celebration aims to inspire individuals to strive for
excellence, embrace lifelong learning, and contribute positively to society. As we celebrate the Filipino
Values we reflect on the values that define us as Filipinos and recommit ourselves to fostering a culture
of education, moral character, and positive change. Together, we can build a brighter and more
prosperous future for all Filipinos.
