Title: National Observance of the Filipino Values

II. Rationale
Filipino Values Month, held annually in November every year, looks to advance recognition of values that are
remarkably and emphatically Filipino. These include love of God and country, solid family ties, care and regard
for older folks, perseverance, and tolerance. Filipino Values refers to the promotion of principles that a greater
part of the Filipinos have generally held significant in their lives. These values incorporate their extraordinary
gathering of belief systems, moral practices, manners, and social/individual qualities. (National Today)

III. Objectives
Pursuant to the DepED Memorandum No. 177, s. 2017; DepEd Order No. 25, s. 2017, Presidential Proclamation
No. 479 Section 2, Paragraph 3; Division Memorandum 913. NOVEMBER is the National Observance Month of
the Filipino Values;
• To integrate the FILIPINO VALUES in the teaching-learning activities, "NOT ONLY and IS NOT
LIMITED in Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao (ESP) but also in all the different learning areas.
• To enforce a life-long learning to all Hinguiwinians (students/teachers/staff) by enlivening the
inherited values thought by our ancestors through a committed mission.
• To foster the Filipino Values through different activities and events in helping the Hinguiwinians in
cultivating the virtues assumed by the DepED: MAKADIOS, MAKATAO, MAKAKALIKASAN ,
MAKABANSA.
IV. Methodology
The Hinguiwin National High School spearheaded by the ESP Coordinators through the partnership of the
Office of the Guidance Councilor will launch a month-long celebration of the National Filipino Values Month
with the theme “Halagahan ang Puso ng Pagka-Pilipino” and will be called “Mga Ginintuang Kaugalian at
Gawi ng Hinguiwinians” incorporated and aligned also in the Celebration of the 50th Founding Anniversary
of the School.
Activities such as, but not limited to, in the discretion of the ESP Teachers.
➢ Poster & Slogan Making Contest ➢ Recognition for learners who are showing exemplary
➢ Poem & Jingle Making Contest virtues of being Makadiyos, Makakalikasan, Makatao at
➢ Symposium & Seminars Makabansa
➢ Clean Up Drive & Recycling Contest ➢ Recollection or Faith Renewal
V. Time Frame
Corresponding to the DepEd Order No. 9 s. 2005 of Non-Disruption of Classes and instituting measures to
increase and engage time on teaching; all activities shall be done outside teaching and class hours.
(6:00 am – 7:30am , 12:00nn – 1:00pm, 4:00pm – 4:30pm)
