Introduction to mass

Brethren,
Good morning, today we celebrate the third Sunday in ordinary time year C. our
readings for today give us a model base as to how a perfect celebration of /God’s word
in His assembly should be.
They tell us that we are all parts of same body with each of us having a role to
play and shouldn’t ignore any other.
As we prepare ourselves to pray to God during this mass for His grace to live our
lives in the fullness of His love and in communion with each other, let us stand and sing
with the choir, welcoming He that comes in the Lord’s name

Introduction to readings
a. 1st reading
In our first reading drawn from the book of Nehemia chapter eight verses two to four,
verses five to six and verses eight to ten, we will listen on how the Prophet Ezra lifted
up and proclaimed from the book of the Lord to the people who in turn acclaimed the
Lord, bowing in reverence and acknowledging the joy of God as their strength.

b. 2nd reading
Saint Paul reminds us Christians that we are all members of one body and so we need
to work together as one. This and more we will listen to in our second reading from
the first letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians chapter twelve verse twelve to thirty.

Bidding prayers
1. For the church and her leaders: Francis our pope, Jean Mbarga our
archbishop, priests, religious and all who work in the Lord’s vine yard that
they may always be inspired by the Holy spirit to do their work of
evangelization with the fear of the Lord.
Lord in your mercy…
2. Let us pray for Cameroon, especially her administrative and traditional
leaders, that God may instill in them the spirit of knowledge, wisdom and
understanding so that they may work for the common good of those
entrusted to their care

3. We pray for our enlarged parish community most especially the English
speaking community, that as parts of one body, we may work together in
love and harmony in proclaiming the good News.

4. Let us pray for all of us gathered here today, that as we celebrate the word
of God, may we be committed in reading, meditating and living by the
word of God.

5. For a while in silence, let us pray for our personal intentions, the intentions
of those who asked us to pray for us and those who have no one to pray
for them, as well as the intentions of this mass…

6. Let join the choir to sing for the intercession for our prayers to Jesus
through the blessed virgin Mary.
