 Definition
discussion text is about presenting various viewpoints and
arguments, so that readers can understand the different aspects
and make their own informed desicions
 Purpose
- to inform readers about a particular topic, issue, or question by
presenting different perspectives, opinions, or arguments
- to encourage readers to think critically, analyze different
perspectives and develop their own opinions
- discussion texts can spark conversation and debates among
readers, fostering a deeper understanding of the issue at hand
 Structure
1. statement of issue
it's provides a brief overview and sets the context for the debate
2. list of supporting points
it's provide a list of points that support one side of the debate
3. list of contrast points
it's present a list of contrast points that represent the opposing side
of the debate
4. recommendation
it's synthesizes the information from the discussion and offers
practical suggestions that take into account both the positive and
negative aspect of issue

Homeschooling
homeschooling is an alternative way to educate our kids beside sending them to
public school. home schooling is becoming more popular everyday. there are
about 2 million children currently learning at home. however, it has some
advantages and disadvantages

parents choose to homeschool to educate their kids because they believe that
homeschooling can be a personalized schedule. homeschooling allows parents
and children to work out a schedule that will best work for the child. another
advantage is flexibility in time and curriculum. by homeschooling, parents can set
the curriculum freely.

on the other hand, homeschooling can spoil parents time. homeschooling needs a
lot of time in preparation and delivery. parents have to research topics, prepare
the lesson, set of the project and field the trips

so, when thinking about putting children through homeschool, I believe we should
make sure that we understand all of the criteria involved in home education
