1.2. Uso conforme a lo previsto

Su aparato le ofrece diversas posibilidades de uso:
La máquina de coser sirve para coser prendas ligeras a pesadas y para adornar las costuras.
El material de la pieza a coser puede ser de fibras textiles, materiales compuestos o cuero fino.
• El aparato ha sido diseñado exclusivamente para el uso particular y no es indicado para fines comerciales/industria-
les.
Tenga en cuenta que la garantía perderá su validez en caso de un uso no conforme a la previsto:
• No realice ninguna modificación en la construcción del aparato sin nuestra autorización previa, ni utilice ningún
equipo suplementario que no haya sido suministrado o autorizado por nuestra parte.
• Utilice solo accesorios y piezas de repuesto que hayan sido autorizados o suministrados por nuestra parte.
• Tenga en cuenta toda la información contenida en este manual de instrucciones, especialmente las indicaciones de
seguridad. Cualquier otro uso se considerará contrario al uso previsto y puede provocar daños materiales y persona-

2. Indicaciones de seguridad ES
2.1. Mantenga los aparatos eléctricos fuera del alcance de los niños EN
• Este aparato puede ser utilizado por niños a partir de los 8 años, así como por personas

con discapacidades físicas, sensoriales o mentales y por aquellas que no tengan la sufi-
ciente experiencia o conocimientos, siempre que sean supervisadas o hayan recibido las
correspondientes instrucciones sobre el manejo seguro del aparato y hayan comprendi-
do los peligros resultantes. Los niños no deben jugar con el aparato. La limpieza y la revi-
sión por parte del usuario no debe ser efectuada por niños, a no ser que tengan más de 8
años y sean supervisados.
• Mantenga alejados del aparato y del cable de conexión a los niños menores de 8 años.

Los embalajes de plástico se pueden tragar o utilizar de forma indebida, por ello

 Mantenga alejado de los niños el material de embalaje, como, p. ej., los plásti-

2.2. Cable de red y toma de corriente
• Conecte el aparato siempre a una toma eléctrica de fácil acceso (220 - 240 V ~ 50 Hz) y

cercana al lugar de instalación. Para que el aparato pueda desconectarse rápidamente de
la corriente en caso necesario, el enchufe debe estar bien accesible.
• Al desconectar el aparato de la red, tire siempre de la clavija y nunca del cable.
• Durante el funcionamiento, desenrolle el cable completamente.
• El cable de red y eventuales cables de prolongación deben colocarse de tal modo que no

se pueda tropezar con ellos.

• El cable no debe entrar en contacto con superficies calientes.
• Cuando deje de utilizar la máquina, desenchúfela de la red. Con ello evitará peligros de
accidente causados por una puesta en marcha no intencionada.
• Para efectuar las siguientes tareas, apague la máquina de coser y desenchúfela de la red:
enhebrar, cambiar la aguja, ajustar el prensatelas, cambiar la bombilla eléctrica, realizar

trabajos de limpieza y de mantenimiento, así como al terminar los trabajos de costura y

en caso de interrupciones del trabajo.
2.3. Instrucciones fundamentales

• La máquina de coser no debe mojarse: ¡existe el peligro de una descarga eléctrica!

• No deje nunca la máquina de coser encendida sin vigilancia.
• Nunca utilice la máquina al aire libre.
• No utilice la máquina cuando ésta esté húmeda o se encuentre en entornos húmedos.
• La máquina solo debe ponerse en marcha en combinación con el pedal tipo KD 2902 in-
cluido en el suministro.

2.4. No haga nunca reparaciones por su cuenta
¡ADVERTENCIA!
¡Riesgo de descarga eléctrica!
En caso de una reparación indebida existe peligro de descarga eléctrica.
 En ningún caso trate de abrir o de arreglar usted mismo el aparato.
 En caso de mal funcionamiento del aparato o de que el cable de conexión del
aparato esté dañado, diríjase al Service Center o a otro taller técnico especiali-
zado.
• En caso de desperfectos en el aparato o el cable de conexión, desenchúfelo inmediata-
mente.
• Para evitar accidentes, no utilice la máquina de coser en caso de daños visibles en el apa-
rato o en el cable de red.
• Si el cable de conexión de este aparato está dañado, el fabricante o su servicio de asis-
tencia al cliente, o una persona con una cualificación comparable, deberá sustituirlo para
evitar accidentes.
2.5. Manejo seguro del aparato
• Coloque la máquina de coser sobre una superficie firme y lisa.
• Durante el funcionamiento, las aberturas de ventilación deben quedar libres: no permita
que entren objetos (p. ej., polvo, restos de hilo, etc.) por las aberturas.
• Mantenga el pedal libre de pelusas, polvo y restos de tela.
• No coloque nunca nada encima del pedal.
• Utilice exclusivamente los accesorios suministrados.
• Para la lubricación utilice solamente aceite especial para máquinas de coser. No utilice
otros líquidos.
• Tenga cuidado al manejar las piezas móviles de la máquina, especialmente la aguja. ¡Exis-
te peligro de lesionarse, también cuando la máquina no esté conectada a la red eléctrica!
• Al coser, procure no introducir los dedos debajo del tornillo del portaagujas.
• No utilice agujas deformadas o despuntadas.
• Al coser, no retenga la tela ni tire de la misma. Las agujas podrían romperse.
• Al terminar el trabajo de costura, coloque siempre la aguja en su posición más elevada.
• Al dejar la máquina, antes de realizar trabajos de mantenimiento o al cambiar bombillas,
apague siempre la máquina y desenchúfela.
2.6. Limpieza y almacenamiento
• Antes de limpiar la máquina, desconéctela de la red. Para limpiarla, emplee un paño seco
y suave. Evite emplear disolventes y productos de limpieza químicos, puesto que podrían
dañar las superficies y/o las inscripciones del aparato.
• Cuando guarde la máquina de coser, cúbrala siempre con la cubierta suministrada para
protegerla contra el polvo.

3.1. Volumen de suministro

Cuando desembale el aparato, asegúrese de que estén incluidos los siguientes componentes:
• Máquina de coser DE
• Mesa supletoria con caja de accesorios
• Pedal
• Cubierta
• Manual de instrucciones y documentos de garantía

3.2. Contenido de la caja de accesorios

3.3. Conexiones eléctricas
 El interruptor de corriente sirve para encender tanto la máquina como la
luz para coser. Conecte la clavija de acoplamiento del pedal suministrado
en la caja del tomacorriente (19) de la máquina y, a continuación, conecte
la clavija de enchufe en la toma de corriente.
Utilice exclusivamente el pedal tipo KD 2902 suministrado.
Al dejar la máquina, antes de realizar trabajos de mantenimiento o al cambiar
bombillas, apague siempre la máquina y desenchúfela.
3.4. Posición estable de la máquina de coser

Con el pie de regulación se puede ajustar la posición estable de la máquina de
coser.
 Gire el pie de regulación hacia la derecha para bajarlo o hacia la izquierda
para subirlo.
 Ajuste el pie de forma que la máquina de coser quede horizontal sobre la
superficie de trabajo y no se tambalee.
3.5. Controlar la velocidad de cosido

La velocidad de cosido se controla mediante el pedal. Se puede modificar la
velocidad de cosido pisando con más o menos presión el pedal.
3.6. Colocar y retirar la base plana desmontable

La máquina se suministra con una mesa de trabajo acoplada. La base plana
está hueca y su interior puede utilizarse para guardar la bolsa de accesorios.
 Para retirar la base plana, empújela con cuidado hacia la izquierda.
 Para acoplar la base plana desmontable, acóplela con cuidado a la máqui-
na y empújela hacia la derecha hasta que encaje de forma audible.

4. Preparativos ES
4.1. Devanar la bobina del hilo inferior EN
Las bobinas del hilo inferior se pueden devanar rápida y fácilmente con la má-
quina de coser. DE
Para ello introduzca la hebra del carrete de hilo a través del guiahilos (1).
A continuación, indicamos paso por paso cómo realizar el devanado:
 Coloque el selector (22) del volante (21) en la posición del símbolo de la ca-
nilla para que la aguja (26) no se mueva durante el devanado.
 Coloque uno de los portacarretes (15) en uno de los huecos previstos y co-
loque un carrete de hilo.
 Guíe ahora la hebra desde el carrete de hilo por el guiahilos (1), tal como se
muestra en la ilustración. Guíe la hebra de delante hacia atrás por el guiahi-
los (1) de forma que el hilo se cruce.
 Enhebre el extremo del hilo por el orificio de la bobina, tal como se mues-
tra en la ilustración, y enrolle la hebra a mano dándole unas vueltas a la bo-
bina.

 Coloque la bobina en el husillo (4) de forma que el extremo del hilo quede
en la parte superior de la bobina. Deslice el husillo de la bobina (4) hacia la
derecha contra el tope de la bobina (5) hasta que encaje de forma audible.
 Sujete el extremo del hilo y accione el pedal. En cuanto la bobina se haya

devanado un poco, suelte el extremo del hilo. Siga con el devanado hasta
que el husillo de la bobina (4) se detenga automáticamente.
 Deslice el husillo de la bobina (4) hacia la izquierda y retire la bobina.

 Corte la hebra.
 Vuelva a colocar el selector (22) del volante (21) en la posición del símbolo

de la aguja. Ahora, la aguja (26) se moverá de nuevo al accionar el pedal.

Si durante el devanado no se distribuye uniformemente el hilo, existe la posi-
bilidad de regular la altura del guiahilos (1):
 Afloje el tornillo (B) para regular la altura del guiahilos (A).

4.2. Extraer el canillero ES
 Retire la mesa supletoria.
 Coloque la aguja (26) (girando el volante [21]) y el prensatelas en la posi- EN
ción más elevada, y abra la tapa del canillero (10) tal como se muestra en la
ilustración. DE
 Abra la palanca basculante del canillero y extráigalo de la máquina.
 Si suelta la palanca basculante, la canilla se saldrá por sí sola del canillero.
4.3. Enhebrar el canillero

 Sostenga la canilla entre el pulgar y el índice de la mano derecha, y deje
que el hilo cuelgue hacia fuera aprox. 15 cm.
 Sostenga el canillero con la mano izquierda e inserte la canilla en el canille-
ro.
 Pase el extremo del hilo por la ranura del borde del canillero.
 Ahora lleve la hebra por debajo del muelle tensor hasta insertarla en el ori-
ficio para la hebra. Asegúrese de que salgan aprox. 15 cm de hilo de la ca-
nilla.

4.4. Colocar el canillero
 Sujete el canillero de forma que el saliente mire hacia arriba. Abra la palan-
ca basculante del canillero.
 Coloque el canillero en la espiga central e insértelo con cuidado hasta que

el saliente del canillero entre en el anillo de la órbita de la lanzadera.
 Suelte la palanca y presiónela contra el canillero.
 Cierre la tapa del canillero (10).

4.5. Enhebrar el hilo superior ES
Lea con suma atención las siguientes instrucciones, ya que un orden incorrec-
to o una conducción incorrecta del hilo puede causar que el hilo se rompa, se EN
salten puntadas o se frunza la tela.
 En la cubierta frontal se ilustra esquemáticamente cómo se guía el hilo. Uti- DE
lice también este dibujo como orientación.
 Antes de enhebrar el hilo, coloque la palanca del prensatelas (17) y la agu-
ja (26) en la posición más elevada girando el volante [21]).
 Coloque un carrete de hilo en uno de los portacarretes (15) de forma que la
hebra salga de la parte posterior del carrete hacia delante.
 Sostenga el carrete de hilo con la mano derecha.
¡ADVERTENCIA!
La ilustración sirve solo como aclaración, no hace falta abrir la cubierta frontal.
 Pase ahora el hilo por el guiahilos superior (9).
 A continuación, pase el hilo por entre los discos tensores del regulador de
tensión del hilo superior (3).
CONSEJO
Para la mayoría de aplicaciones, una tensión del hilo superior de nivel 3 es la
más adecuada.

 Pase la hebra por debajo del guiahilos delantero hacia arriba; con ello se
empuja el resorte guía interior automáticamente hacia arriba.
 A continuación, enhebre el hilo de derecha a izquierda por el gancho del

alzador del hilo (2).
ADVERTENCIA
Si fuera necesario, gire el volante (21) para subir hasta arriba el alzador del
hilo (2).
 Vuelva a llevar la hebra hacia abajo en dirección a la aguja (26), colocándo-

la por el guiahilos interno y el guiahilos del portaagujas (32).
 Enhebre ahora el hilo de delante hacia atrás por el ojo de la aguja dejando
que el extremo del hilo salga aprox. 10 cm.

4.6. Extraer el hilo inferior hacia arriba ES
 Coloque el prensatelas (28) hacia arriba.
Gire el volante (21) con la mano derecha hacia usted hasta que la aguja (26) EN
baje y vuelva a subir.
Detenga el volante (21) tan pronto como la aguja (26) se encuentre en la DE
posición más elevada.
Sujete el extremo del hilo superior con la mano izquierda.
Tire un poco del hilo superior hacia arriba de modo que el hilo inferior for-
me un bucle.

 Tire de ambos hilos sacándolos hacia atrás por debajo del prensatelas (28)
aprox. 10 cm.

5.1. Ajuste de la tensión del hilo
Si el hilo se rompe al coser, la tensión del hilo es demasiado alta.
Si, en cambio, se forman pequeños bucles, la tensión es demasiado baja.
En ambos casos será necesario ajustar la tensión del hilo.
La tensión del hilo superior y la tensión del hilo inferior deberán tener una re-
lación adecuada entre sí.
5.1.1. Regulación de la tensión del hilo superior

La tensión se produce mediante los discos por los que pasa el hilo. Con el re-
gulador de tensión del hilo superior (3) se regula la presión ejercida sobre es-
tos discos.
Cuanto mayor es el número, mayor es la tensión.
ADVERTENCIA
Para la mayoría de trabajos de costura una tensión del hilo superior de nivel 3
es la más adecuada.
La tensión del hilo superior no se hace efectiva hasta que se baja el prensate-
las.
Hay varios motivos por los que pueda ser necesario regular la tensión. Así, p.
ej., la tensión debe variar en función de las diferentes telas.
La tensión necesaria depende de la estructura y el grosor de la tela, del núme-
ro de capas de tela que se vayan a coser y del tipo de puntada que se seleccio-
ne.
Procure que la tensión del hilo superior y la del inferior sean uniformes, ya que,
de lo contrario, se podría fruncir la tela.
Recomendamos hacer pruebas con un retal antes de cada trabajo de costura.
5.1.2. Regulación de la tensión del hilo inferior

La tensión del hilo inferior se tiene que regular raras veces ya que ésta ha sido
ajustada por el fabricante para realizar tareas de costura generales.
La tensión del hilo inferior es correcta si se puede extraer el hilo del carrete fá-
cilmente, pero con una pequeña resistencia.
Sin embargo, para telas especialmente ligeras o pesadas habrá que regular la
tensión del hilo inferior.
La tensión del hilo inferior se ajusta mediante el tornillo de ajuste del canillero.
Para ello, utilice el destornillador pequeño suministrado.
Retire el canillero.
Reducir la tensión:
Girar el tornillo en sentido antihorario
Aumentar la tensión:
Girar el tornillo en sentido horario

5.1.3. Comprobar la tensión del hilo inferior ES
El modo más sencillo de comprobar la tensión del hilo inferior es coser una
puntada zigzag mediana en un retal de la tela que desee coser. EN
Utilice para ello la aguja (26) e hilos previstos.
Se verá mucho más claro si se utilizan distintos colores para el hilo superior y DE
el inferior.
Dé ahora algunas puntadas zigzag.
La tensión del hilo es correcta si el hilo inferior no se ve en la cara superior de
la tela.
Procure que las puntadas sean siempre uniformes (véase la ilustración al mar-
gen).
5.2. Comprobar la tensión de los hilos

5.2.1. Costura correcta
La tensión del hilo superior y del inferior será correcta cuando sea tan firme
que los ligamentos de los hilos se encuentren en el centro de la tela.
La tela debe permanecer lisa y no formar pliegues.
5.2.2. Costuras irregulares

El hilo superior está demasiado tenso y tira del hilo inferior hacia arriba. El hilo
inferior aparece en la cara superior de la tela.
Solución:
Ajustar la tensión del hilo superior girando el regulador de tensión del hilo su-
perior (3) a un nivel inferior.
El hilo superior está demasiado suelto. El hilo inferior tira del hilo superior ha-
cia abajo. El hilo superior aparece en la cara inferior de la tela.
Solución:
Ajustar la tensión del hilo superior girando el regulador de tensión del hilo su-
perior (3) a un nivel superior.
En estos dos casos de costuras irregulares, es posible que deba regularse tam-
bién la tensión del hilo inferior.

6. Coser
6.1. Aspectos generales
 Encienda el interruptor principal (18).
 Al cambiar de tipo de puntada, coloque siempre la aguja (26) en su posi-
ción más elevada. Coloque la tela de modo que quede suficientemente por
debajo del prensatelas (28). Deje que los hilos superior e inferior sobresal-
gan aprox. 10 cm hacia atrás.
 Baje la palanca del prensatelas (17). Mientras sujeta el hilo con la mano iz-
quierda, gire el volante (21) hacia usted y dirija la aguja (26) a la posición de
la tela donde desee empezar a coser.
 Accione el pedal: cuanto más lo pise, más rápido funcionará la máquina.
Guíe la tela suavemente con la mano mientras cose. Para fijar las primeras
puntadas, dé algunas puntadas hacia atrás accionando la palanca de retro-
ceso (8).
CONSEJO
Si no está seguro de si, por ejemplo, la tensión del hilo o el tipo de puntada
son correctos, pruebe los ajustes en una muestra de tela.
La tela va pasando automáticamente por debajo del prensatelas (28): No debe
retenerse ni estirarse con la mano, sino guiarse suavemente para que la costu-
ra se vaya cosiendo en la dirección que usted desee.
6.2. Selección de la aguja adecuada

El número que indica el grosor de la aguja (26) aparece en el talón.
Cuanto mayor es el número, más gruesa es la aguja (26).

El uso de una aguja defectuosa puede dañar la labor.
 Cambie de inmediato las agujas defectuosas.

6.3. Elevar y bajar el prensatelas ES
Elevando o bajando la palanca del prensatelas (17) se mueve el prensate-
las (28) hacia arriba o hacia abajo. EN

6.4. Protector para los dedos

Esta pieza accesoria sirve para evitar que se meta la mano debajo de la agu-
ja (26).
6.5. Coser hacia atrás

 Cosiendo hacia atrás se puede reforzar el inicio y el fin de una costura. Pre-
sione hacia abajo la palanca de retroceso (8) y manténgala presionada.
 Accione el pedal: cuanto más lo pise, más rápido funcionará la máquina.
 Para volver a coser hacia delante basta con soltar la palanca de retroce-
so (8).
6.6. Retirar la tela de la máquina de coser

Termine el trabajo de costura siempre de forma que la aguja (26) se encuentre
en la posición más elevada. Para retirar la tela, levante el prensatelas (28) y sa-
que la tela hacia atrás alejándola de usted.

6.7. Cambiar la dirección de cosido
 Si en las esquinas de la labor desea cambiar de dirección, proceda del si-
guiente modo: Detenga la máquina y gire el volante (21) hacia usted hasta
que la aguja (26) se quede metida en la tela.
 Eleve el prensatelas (28).
 Gire la tela alrededor de la aguja (26) para cambiar la dirección según de-
see.
 Vuelva a bajar el prensatelas (28) y siga cosiendo.
6.8. Cortar el hilo

Corte el hilo con el cortador de hilo (13), que se encuentra en el lateral de la

cubierta frontal, o con una tijera. Deje un largo de hilo de aprox. 25 cm conta-
do desde el ojo de la aguja.

Con esta máquina de coser podrá elegir entre distintas puntadas de uso o de
adorno. Con el selector de programas (6) podrá ajustar el tipo de puntada que EN

 Gire el selector de programas (6) de forma que el tipo de puntada deseado

Los programas de costura 17 a 32 se ejecutarán automáticamente si se coloca
el regulador de longitud de puntada en la posición 17 ~ 32. Si, p. ej., se coloca
el selector de programas en la posición 8 y el regulador de longitud de punta-
da en 17 ~ 32, se ejecutará automáticamente el programa 24.
6.10. Ajuste de la longitud de puntada

 Con el regulador de longitud de puntada (7) se puede seleccionar la longi-
tud de la respectiva puntada. Gire el regulador de longitud de puntada (7)
de forma que el número de la longitud deseada esté situado en la marca.
 Los números indican la longitud aproximada de la puntada en milímetros.
6.11. Tipos de puntada (programas)

Los tipos de puntada se ajustan en el selector de programas (6). Procure siem-
pre que la aguja (26) se encuentre en la posición más elevada antes de cam-
biar de tipo de puntada.
Antes de emplear un programa de puntada, realice una prueba en una mues-
tra de tela.

La llamada "puntada de satén" es una puntada zigzag muy estrecha, especial-
mente indicada para aplicaciones, monogramas y varias puntadas decorativas.

para coser telas elásticas o géneros de punto, para aplicar cintas de goma, etc.
La triple puntada elástica, recta o zigzag, produce una costura especialmente
resistente, p. ej., para costuras de la entrepierna, insertos para mangas, fundas
para edredones, etc. Es tres veces más resistente que una costura normal y es
bastante más elástica. La costura se puede estirar junto con la tela sin que se
rompa el hilo.

6.11.8. Juntar cosiendo dos piezas de tela (roturas)

Con la puntada elástica se pueden unir dos piezas de tela de bordes abiertos.
 Coloque los dos bordes de las piezas debajo del prensatelas. Procure que
ambos bordes permanezcan juntos y que la aguja (26) penetre en la tela a
la derecha e izquierda de forma uniforme.
6.11.9. Coser cintas elásticas

 Coloque la cinta elástica en la posición deseada.
 Cosa la cinta elástica con la puntada elástica estirando con las manos la cin-
ta por delante y por detrás del prensatelas. Cuanto más fuerte la tensión,
mayor será el fruncido.

6.11.10. Puntada de rombo
La puntada de rombo es muy versátil y decorativa. Sirve, p. ej., para aplicar en-
cajes o cintas elásticas, o para coser sobre material elástico.

Frunza uniformemente la labor.
Coloque debajo del frunce una tira estrecha de tela y sobrecósala con la pun-
tada de nido de abeja.

prenda completa.
En el caso de telas muy ligeras se puede lograr el mismo efecto con un hilo
elástico.
6.11.11. Puntada de sobrehilado overlock

Esta puntada es especialmente adecuada para coser y remendar prendas de
jersey y chándales. Esta puntada es tan decorativa como útil. Consta de líneas
laterales con uniones cruzadas, y es totalmente elástica.

 Al final, se recomienda ajustar la longitud de la puntada a "0" y dar unas
puntadas más para que los hilos se anuden mejor y el ojal no se deshilache
tan rápidamente.
 Por último, corte la tela que queda entre las costuras con la cuchilla para
descoser suministrada. Proceda con mucho cuidado para no dañar ningu-
no de los nervios.
CONSEJO
Para evitar cortar el nervio superior se recomienda colocar un alfiler delante
del nervio.
6.13. Coser cremalleras

Según el lado de la cinta de la cremallera que se vaya a coser, deberá colocar el
prensatelas de forma que quede sobre la tela.

 Coloque el prensatelas y la aguja (26) en la posición más elevada para cam-

biar el prensatelas.
 Hilvane la cremallera sobre la tela y coloque la pieza en la posición corres-
pondiente debajo del prensatelas.
 Para coser el lado derecho de la cremallera, fije el prensatelas para crema-
lleras de forma que la aguja (26) cosa por el lado izquierdo (1).
 Cosa por el lado derecho de la cremallera, acercando la costura a los dien-
tes tanto como sea posible. (1)
 Fije la cremallera aprox. 0,5 cm por debajo de los dientes con una trabilla.
 Para coser el lado izquierdo de la cremallera, cambie la posición del prensa-
telas en el soporte del prensatelas (29).
 Cosa de igual modo que en el lado derecho de la cremallera (2).
 Antes de que el prensatelas llegue al pasador de la cinta de la cremallera,
levante el prensatelas y abra la cremallera dejando la aguja (26) en el mate-
rial (3).
6.13.1. Coser cordones

Con el prensatelas para cremalleras también se pueden coser cordones fácil-
mente, tal como se muestra en la ilustración.
 Realice un pliegue en la tela de manera que se forme un túnel para el cor-
dón y cosa a lo largo del cordón debiendo encontrarse el prensatelas para
cremalleras por detrás del cordón.

6.14. Zurcir ES
6.14.1. Montar la placa de zurcir

En algunos trabajos de costura, como coser botones, ganchos y corchetes, así
como para zurcir y bordar, es necesario que la labor no sea transportada auto-

máticamente, sino que se pueda controlar el deslizamiento.
 En tales casos debe montarse la placa de zurcir suministrada como acceso-
rio. Levante la palanca del prensatelas (17) y coloque la aguja (26) en la po-
sición más elevada girando el volante (21).
 Ahora inserte los dos pasadores de la placa de zurcir en las aberturas co-
rrespondientes de la placa de puntadas (12) hasta que encajen, tal como se
muestra en las ilustraciones 1 y 2.
 Para volver a retirar la placa de zurcir solo hay que levantar las esquinas.
6.14.2. Zurcir
 Retire el soporte del prensatelas (29) y seleccione el ajuste normal de la
tensión del hilo inferior.
La tensión del hilo superior deberá ser algo más floja de lo normal.

Si fuera necesario, se puede colocar un trozo de tela debajo de la zona defec-

tuosa.
 Coloque la labor debajo de la aguja (26) y baje la palanca del prensate-

las (17) para que se haga efectiva la tensión del hilo.
 Empiece a coser deslizando la tela despacio hacia delante y hacia atrás con
la mano.
 Repita el proceso hasta que el punto defectuoso esté bien lleno de punta-
das paralelas.
 Si fuera necesario, se puede repetir el proceso de zurcido en sentido trans-
versal, igual que cuando se zurce a mano.
CONSEJO
Durante el zurcido hay que mantener bien tensa la tela. Si la zona dañada es
grande, se recomienda tensar la labor en un bastidor de bordado (disponible
en comercios especializados).

Retire el prensatelas y coloque la placa de zurcir. Seleccione el ajuste normal
para la tensión del hilo inferior.

 Baje el soporte del prensatelas (29) para que se haga efectiva la tensión del
hilo.
 Sujete firmemente con la mano el bastidor de bordado mientras cose el di-
bujo deseado. No desplace la tela, sino siempre el bastidor de bordado.

¡Peligro de lesiones!
Sin prensatelas ni protector para los dedos existe el peligro
de herirse, ya que se puede acceder directamente al meca-
nismo de coser.
 Mantenga los dedos siempre fuera del bastidor de borda-
do para evitar lesiones.

Recomendamos dibujar el motivo deseado en el envés de la tela con un lápiz
o una tiza de costura (disponible en comercios especializados.
6.16. Coser botones y ojetes

 Coloque la placa de zurcir sobre el transportador para que la tela no se des-
lice automáticamente.

 Controle la posición correcta del botón girando el volante (21) con la
mano. La aguja (26) debe penetrar exactamente en los orificios del botón
para evitar dañar la aguja (26). Si fuera necesario, modifique el ancho de la
puntada zigzag.
 Realice de 6 a 7 puntadas por orificio a baja velocidad.
En el caso de botones con cuatro orificios, la tela se desplaza con el botón, y
luego también se deberán realizar de 6 a 7 puntadas en los otros orificios. Des-
pués de retirar la tela, pase el hilo superior (cortado generosamente) al revés
de la tela y anúdelo con el hilo inferior.

6.16.1. Coser botones con tallo ES
Con materiales pesados se requiere a menudo un tallo en el botón.
 Coloque una aguja (26) o, en caso de un tallo más grueso, una cerilla, sobre EN
el botón y proceda del mismo modo que para coser botones normales.
 Efectúe unas 10 puntadas y retire la labor de la máquina. DE
 Retire la aguja (26) o cerilla de la labor.
 Deje el hilo superior un poco más largo y córtelo.
 Enhébrelo por el botón y enróllelo unas cuantas veces alrededor del tallo
formado, páselo al revés de la tela y anúdelo con el hilo inferior.
6.17. Coser con una aguja gemela (aguja doble)

Las agujas gemelas pueden adquirirse en comercios especializados bien sur-
tidos. A la hora de comprar una de estas agujas, asegúrese de que la distancia
entre las dos agujas no sea superior a 2,5 mm.
Con la aguja gemela se pueden realizar bonitos dibujos bicolores si para coser
se utilizan hilos de distintos colores.
ADVERTENCIA
Su máquina de coser dispone de un ajuste automático del ancho de la punta-
da, por lo que todas las puntadas pueden hacerse también con una aguja ge-
mela.
 Con otros programas o un ancho de puntada superior las agujas pueden

doblarse o romperse. Coloque la aguja gemela del mismo modo que una
aguja sencilla (consulte la página 31).
 Coloque dos carretes de hilo igual de llenos en los portacarretes de
hilo (15) extraíbles.
 Asegúrese de colocar en cada uno de los portacarretes (15) uno de los dos
discos de fieltro suministrados con los accesorios.
 Enhebre los dos hilos por el soporte del hilo como si se tratara de un solo
hilo.
 Lleve los dos hilos por los discos tensores del hilo superior, procurando que
un hilo vaya por la derecha del disco central y el otro, por la izquierda.
 Inserte los dos hilos en el guiahilos (1).
 Cuando llegue a los ojos de las agujas, enhebre un hilo por la derecha y el
otro, por la izquierda.
ADVERTENCIA
Para coser una esquina con la aguja gemela, extraiga la aguja de la tela, ya
que, de lo contrario, la aguja gemela puede romperse o doblarse.

6.18. Coser con el brazo libre
El brazo libre (11) permite coser más fácilmente piezas en forma de tubo, p.ej.,
para mangas o perneras esta función es muy útil.
Se puede convertir fácilmente la máquina de coser en una máquina de brazo
libre, retirando la base plana desmontable con la caja de accesorios de la má-
quina.
El brazo libre (11) es especialmente útil en las siguientes tareas de costura:
• Arreglar los codos y rodillas de las prendas.
• Coser mangas, especialmente en prendas pequeñas.
• Coser aplicaciones, bordados o dobladillos en bordes, puños o perneras.

 La lámpara de coser se enciende y se apaga con el interruptor princi-
pal (18).
 Para abrir la cubierta frontal, afloje el tornillo del centro de la cubierta fron-
tal (14) con el destornillador suministrado.
 Extraiga hacia delante la cubierta frontal.
 Para cambiar la bombilla, desenrósquela en sentido antihorario.
 Coloque una bombilla nueva y vuelva a colocar la cubierta frontal hasta
que encaje de forma audible y atorníllela.
ADVERTENCIA
La potencia máxima admisible de la bombilla es de 15 vatios.
Las bombillas se pueden adquirir en un comercio especializado.
7.2. Cambiar la aguja

 Gire el volante (21) hacia usted hasta que la aguja (26) se encuentre en la
posición más elevada.
 Afloje el tornillo del portaagujas (24) girándolo hacia usted con un destor-
nillador.
 Retire la aguja (26) del portaagujas (32).
 Coloque la nueva aguja (26) con el lado plano hacia atrás. Empuje la agu-
ja (26) hacia arriba hasta el tope.
 Vuelva a apretar el tornillo del portaagujas (24).
ADVERTENCIA
Las agujas se pueden adquirir en un comercio especializado.

7.3. Retirar y colocar el prensatelas
 Gire el volante (21) hacia usted hasta que la aguja (26) alcance la posición
más elevada.
 Levante el prensatelas (28) subiendo la palanca del prensatelas (17).
 Empuje hacia arriba la palanca de desenganche del prensatelas (31), detrás
del soporte del prensatelas (29), para que caiga el prensatelas (28).
7.3.1. Colocar
 Coloque el prensatelas (28) de tal forma que el pasador del prensatelas
quede exactamente debajo de la ranura del soporte del prensatelas. Baje la
palanca del prensatelas (17).
 A continuación, empuje hacia arriba la palanca de desenganche del pren-
satelas (31). El prensatelas (28) encajará automáticamente.

No es necesario retirar el soporte del prensatelas (29), a menos que quiera zur-
cir, bordar o dejar sitio para limpiar la zona del transportador de la tela. EN

 Retire el prensatelas del soporte del prensatelas (29) y afloje el tornillo del

 Coloque la aguja (26) en la posición más elevada girando el volante (21)
hacia usted y suba la palanca del prensatelas (17).
 Cuando ahora coloque el soporte del prensatelas (29), presiónelo hacia
arriba todo lo posible y apriete el tornillo del soporte del prensatelas (30)
con el destornillador suministrado.
7.5. Cuidado de la máquina de coser

La máquina de coser es un producto mecánico de precisión y requiere un cui-
dado periódico para poder funcionar siempre correctamente.
Usted mismo puede ocuparse de las tareas de cuidado.
El cuidado consiste básicamente en: limpiar y lubricar.
ADVERTENCIA
Para lubricar utilice exclusivamente aceites especiales para máquinas de coser
de la mejor calidad ya que otros aceites no son adecuados.
Tenga en cuenta que, después de la lubricación, pueden quedar restos de
aceite dentro de la máquina. Para eliminar estos restos, dé algunas puntadas
en un retal. De este modo evitará ensuciar la labor.

7.5.1. Limpiar la carcasa y el pedal
Antes de limpiar el aparato, desconéctelo de la red.
Para limpiar la carcasa y el pedal, emplee un paño seco y suave. Evite emplear
detergentes y productos químicos de limpieza, puesto que podrían dañar las
superficies y/o las inscripciones del aparato.
7.5.2. Limpiar el transportador

 Es preciso mantener siempre limpios los dientes del transportador para ga-
rantizar una costura perfecta. Retire la aguja (26) y el prensatelas (28) (con-
sulte la página 31 y sig.).
 Desatornille los tornillos de la placa de puntadas (12) para retirarla de la
máquina.
 Utilice un cepillo para eliminar el polvo y los restos de hilo de los dientes
del transportador.
 Vuelva a colocar la placa de puntadas (12).
7.5.3. Limpiar y lubricar el alojamiento del carrete

 Coloque la aguja (26) en la posición más elevada. De lo contrario, no se po-
drá extraer la lanzadera.
 Retire el canillero.
 Gire las palancas de resorte hacia fuera, tal como se muestra, y retire el ani-
llo de la órbita de la lanzadera.
 Retire la lanzadera sujetando el pivote que hay en el centro de la lanzadera.

 Elimine toda la suciedad del anillo de la órbita de la lanzadera y lubrique
las piezas con un paño.

 Aplique una o dos gotas de aceite en la órbita de la lanzadera de la canilla,
tal como se muestra.

7.6. Lubricar la máquina

de lubricar estos puntos, es necesario limpiarlos. Aplique en estos puntos una
o dos gotas de un buen aceite para máquinas de coser.

Si la máquina no funciona correctamente después de no haberla utilizado du-

rante largo tiempo, lubríquela y déjela que marche a alta velocidad durante
unos minutos con la cubierta frontal cerrada.
Recuerde coser primero en un retal para absorber cualquier resto de aceite
que pueda salir.
CONSEJO
En función de la frecuencia de uso, será preciso lubricar esta parte de la má-
quina con más frecuencia.

En general se utilizan agujas e hilos finos para coser telas finas, y agujas e hilos más gruesos para telas pesadas. Pruebe
siempre el grosor del hilo y de la aguja en un retal de la tela que desee coser. Utilice el mismo hilo en la aguja y el carre-
te. Si va a hacer costuras elásticas en telas finas o sintéticas, utilice agujas con talón azul (disponibles en comercios es-
pecializados). Estas agujas evitan que se salten puntadas.

1.2. Proper use

Your appliance offers a number of options for usage:
The sewing machine is designed for the sewing together and decoration of seams of light- to heavyweight material.
The material can consist of textiles, composite fabrics or thin leather.
• The machine is intended for private use only and not for industrial/commercial use.
Please note that we shall not be liable in cases of improper use:
• Do not modify the machine without our consent and do not use any auxiliary equipment which we have not ap-
proved or supplied.
• Use only spare parts and accessories that we have supplied or approved.
• Heed all the information in these operating instructions, especially the safety information. Any other use is deemed
improper and can cause personal injury or property damage.
• Do not use the machine in extreme environmental conditions.

• This machine may be used by children over the age of 8 and by persons with reduced

they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the machine and have un-
derstood the potential risks. Do not allow children to play with the machine. Cleaning
and user maintenance must not be performed by children unless they are older than 8

2.2. Mains cable and mains connection
• Only connect the machine to a socket (220–240 V ~ 50 Hz) that is easy to reach and close
to the set-up location. The socket must be freely accessible so that you can unplug the
machine from the mains quickly if necessary.

• When you unplug the machine, always take hold of the plug itself, not the cable.
• Fully unwind the cable during use.
• The mains cable and extension cable must be positioned so that no-one can trip over
them.
• The cable must not come into contact with hot surfaces.

• Pull out the mains plug if you leave the machine unattended. This will prevent accidents
caused by accidental switching on.
• Before performing the following tasks, switch off and unplug the sewing machine:
Threading, changing the needle, setting the presser foot, replacing the light bulb, clean-
ing and maintenance work, when you have finished sewing, and if you take a break from
work.

• Do not allow the sewing machine to get wet – there is a risk of injury due to electric

2.4. Never carry out repairs yourself
WARNING!
Risk of electric shock!
There is a risk of electric shock if repairs are not carried out by qualified person-
nel!
 Never try to open or repair the machine yourself!
 In the event of a fault or if the mains cable is damaged, contact the Service
Centre or another suitable specialist workshop.
• If the machine or mains cable is damaged, remove the mains plug from the socket imme-
diately.
• To avoid risks, do not operate the sewing machine if the machine or the mains cable dis-
play any visible damage.
• In order to prevent risks, damaged mains cables should be replaced by the manufacturer,
the manufacturer’s customer service department or a similarly qualified person.
2.5. Handling the machine safely
• Place the sewing machine on a sturdy, level work surface.
• During operation, the air vents must not be blocked: Do not allow any objects (e.g. dust,
threads, etc.) to enter the vents.
• Keep the foot control free of lint, dust and textile waste.
• Do not place any objects on the foot pedal.
• Use only the accessories supplied.
• Only use special sewing machine oil to lubricate the machine. Do not use any other liq-
uids.
• Be careful when using the moving parts of the machine, in particular the needle. There is
a risk of injury – even when the machine has been turned off.
• When sewing, make sure that your fingers are never underneath the needle clamp screw.
• Do not use bent or blunt needles.
• When sewing, do not hold the fabric tight or pull the fabric. The needles could break.
• When you have finished sewing, always move the needle to its highest position.
• After finishing working with the machine or before starting maintenance (e.g. replace-
ment of light bulb), always switch off and unplug the machine.
2.6. Cleaning and storage
• Before cleaning, pull the mains plug out of the socket. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning.
Avoid the use of chemical solutions and cleaning products because these may damage
the surface and/or markings of the machine
• Always store the sewing machine using the cover hood provided to protect it from dust.

3.3. Electrical connections
 The power switch switches on the machine as well as the sewing light. In-
sert the plug of the supplied foot control in the connector housing (19) on
the machine and then the mains plug into the socket.
Use only the supplied foot control (model KD 2902).
After finishing working with the machine or before starting maintenance (e.g.
replacement of light bulb), always switch off and unplug the machine.
3.4. Stability of the sewing machine

You can use the adjustment foot to adjust the stability of the sewing machine.
 Turn the adjustment foot to the right to move it down or to the left to
move it up.
 Adjust the foot so that the sewing machine is level on the work surface and
does not wobble.
3.5. Controlling the sewing speed

The sewing speed is controlled by the foot control. The sewing speed can be
changed by applying more or less pressure to the foot control.
3.6. Attaching and removing the table extension

The machine is supplied with an attached work table. The interior of the table
extension is hollow and can be used to store the accessory bag.
 The table extension is removed by pushing it carefully to the left.
 To attach the table extension, carefully place the table extension on to the
machine and push it to the right until it audibly clicks into place.

4.1. Winding thread on to the bobbin EN
You can use the sewing machine to quickly and easily wind thread onto the
bobbins. DE
To do so, take the thread from the cotton reel through the thread guide (1) to
the bobbin.
The exact procedure for winding thread on to the bobbin is described in the
following points:
 Set the selector switch (22) in the hand wheel (21) to the bobbin symbol,
so that the needle (26) does not move during winding.
 Place one of the cotton reel holders (15) in the appropriate slots and place
a cotton reel on it.
 Now guide the thread from the cotton reel through the thread guide (1) as
illustrated. Pass the thread from the front to the back through the thread
guide (1) so that the thread crosses itself.
 Put the end of the thread through the bobbin hole as illustrated and wind
the thread around the bobbin a few times by hand.

 Place the bobbin on the bobbin spindle (4), with the side of the bobbin
containing the end of the thread facing upwards. Move the bobbin spin-
dle (4) to the right towards the winding stop (5) until it audibly clicks into
place.
 Hold on to the end of the thread and press the foot control. Once some
thread has been wound on to the bobbin, let go of the end of the thread.
Wind thread on to the bobbin until the bobbin spindle (4) stops automati-
cally.
 Move the bobbin spindle (4) to the left and remove the bobbin.

4.3. Threading the bobbin case

 Hold the bobbin between the thumb and index finger of your right hand
and leave about 15 cm of the thread hanging out.
 Hold the bobbin case in your left hand and put the bobbin in the bobbin
case.
 Put the end of the thread into the slit on the edge of the bobbin case.
 Now pass the thread through the tension spring and into the thread hole.
Make sure that around 15 cm of the thread is hanging out of the bobbin.

4.4. Inserting the bobbin case
 Hold the bobbin case so that the finger of the case is pointing upwards.
Open the rocker arm of the bobbin case.

 A diagram of how to guide the thread is provided on the front flap; you can DE

 Before threading the needle (26), raise the needle to its highest position by
turning the hand wheel (21) and raise the presser foot lever (17) to its high-
est position.
 Place a cotton reel on one of the cotton reel holders (15), making sure the
thread is routed forward over the back of the cotton reel.
 Hold the cotton reel with your right hand.
NOTICE!
The illustration is only for clarification; the front flap must not be opened.
 Pass the thread through the upper thread guide (9).
 Then pass the thread between the tension discs of the upper thread ten-
sion regulator (3) as illustrated.
TIP
An upper thread tension of 3 is ideal for most applications.

5. Settings
5.1. Setting the thread tension
If the thread tears while you are sewing, the thread tension is too high.
If small loops are formed when you are sewing, the thread tension is too low.
In both cases, you need to set the thread tension.
The tensions of the upper and lower threads must be such that the right bal-
ance is achieved.
5.1.1. Regulating the upper thread tension

The tension is created by the discs through which the thread is guided. The
pressure on these discs is controlled by the upper tension thread regulator (3).
The higher the number, the higher the tension.
NOTICE
An upper thread tension of 3 is ideal for most sewing work.
The upper thread tension is not activated until the presser foot is lowered.
There are a number of reasons for adjusting the tension. For example, different
tensions are required for different fabrics.
The tension you require depends on the strength and thickness of the fab-
ric, the number of layers of fabric you want to sew and the type of stitch you
choose.
Make sure that the tensions of the upper and lower threads match, otherwise
the fabric may gather.
We recommend that you carry out a test on a scrap of fabric before starting
work.
5.1.2. Adjusting the lower thread tension

The lower thread tension rarely needs to be adjusted as this has been set by
the manufacturer for general sewing work.
The lower thread tension is correct if you can pull the thread out of the bobbin
easily but with a slight resistance.
However, the lower thread does need to be adjusted for particularly light-
weight or heavy fabrics.
You set the lower thread tension by using the regulating screw on the bobbin
case. Adjust the screw using the small screwdriver provided.
Remove the bobbin case.
Low tension:
Turn the screw anticlockwise
Higher tension:
Turn the screw clockwise.

5.1.3. Checking the lower thread tension ES
The easiest way of checking the lower thread tension is by sewing a medium
zigzag stitch on the fabric in question. EN
Use the appropriate needle (26) and threads.
You can get a clearer picture by using different colours for the upper and low- DE
er threads.
Now sew a few zigzag stitches.
The thread tension is correct if the lower threads are not visible on the top sur-
face of the fabric.
Make sure that you always sew even stitches (see adjacent diagram).
5.2. Checking the thread tension

5.2.1. Correct seam
The tension of the upper and lower thread should be sufficient to ensure that
the threads interlace in the middle of the fabric.
The fabric remains smooth and does not pucker.
5.2.2. Incorrect seams

The upper thread is too tight and pulls the lower thread up. The lower thread
is visible on the upper fabric layer.
Solution:
Reduce the upper thread tension by turning the upper thread tension regula-
tor (3) to a lower setting.
Upper thread is too loose. The lower thread pulls the upper thread down. The
upper thread is visible on the underside of the fabric layer.
Solution:
Reduce the upper thread tension by turning the upper thread tension regula-
tor (3) to a higher setting.
In both cases in which the seams are incorrect, you may also need to adjust
the lower thread tension.

6. Sewing
6.1. General information
 Switch the main switch (18) on.
 When changing the stitch type, always move the needle (26) to its highest
position. Push the fabric sufficiently far under the presser foot (28). Make
sure there is a length of around 10 cm of the upper and lower thread be-
hind the needle.
 Lower the presser foot lever (17). While holding the thread with your left
hand, turn the hand wheel (21) towards you and lower the needle (26) to
the point on the fabric where you want to start sewing.
 Press the foot control– the more pressure you apply to the foot control,
the faster the machine runs. While sewing, guide the fabric gently by hand.
Sew a few reverse stitches by actuating the reverse lever (8), to fix the first
stitches in place.
TIP
If you are not sure whether the thread tension or stitch type, for example, is
correct, test the settings on a swatch.
The fabric automatically runs under the presser foot (28): It should not be held
fast or pulled by hand, but should only be gently guided so that the seam
goes in the desired direction.
6.2. Selecting the right needle

The number indicating the needle (26) thickness is written on the shaft.
The higher the number, the thicker the needle (26).
ATTENTION!
Risk of damage!
Using a defective needle can cause damage to the material.
 Replace defective needles immediately.

6.3. Raising and lowering the presser foot ES
You raise and lower the presser foot (28) by raising and lowering the presser

6.5. Reverse stitching

 Use reverse stitching for reinforcement at the beginning and end of a
seam. Press down the reverse lever (8) and keep it pressed.
 Press the foot control – the more pressure you apply to the foot control,
the faster the machine runs.
 When you want to change to forward stitching, simply release the reverse
lever (8).
6.6. Removing fabric from the sewing machine

When you finish sewing, make sure that the needle (26) is at its highest posi-
tion. To remove the fabric, raise the presser foot (28) and pull out the fabric to-
wards the rear.

 f you want to change the sewing direction at the corners of the material,
proceed as follows: stop the machine and turn the hand wheel (21) until
the needle (26) is lowered into the fabric.

6.8. Cutting the thread

 Turn the programme selection dial (6) so that the arrow marker points to
the stitch type you want to use.
NOTICE!
The sewing programmes 17 to 32 are automatically run if you set the stitch
length regulator to the position 17 ~ 32. For example, if you set the pro-
gramme selection dial to position 8 and the stitch length regulator to 17 ~ 32,
programme 24 is run automatically.
6.10. Setting the stitch length

 You use the stitch length regulator (7) to select the length of the stitch
type. Turn the stitch length regulator (7) so that the marker points to the
stitch length number you want to use.
 The numbers indicate the approximate stitch length in millimetres.
6.11. Stitch types (programmes)

You set the stitch types using the programme selection dial (6). Always make
sure that the needle (26) is at its highest position before changing the stitch
type.

6.11.8. Elastic stitch: Triple straight and zigzag stitch

Use these stitches for sewing elastic fabrics or knitwear, or for sewing on elas-
tic bands, etc.
The triple-stretch straight or zigzag stitch provides a particularly strong stitch
seam, e.g. for crotch seams on trousers, armhole seams, inlets and so on, and
is three times as strong as a normal seam and is also far more elastic. The seam
stretches with the fabric without the thread breaking.

6.11.10. Sewing on elastic bands

 Position the elastic band as required.
 Sew on the elastic band using the elastic stitch, using your hands to stretch
out the band in front of and behind the presser foot. The more you stretch
it, the more it will gather.

The smocking stitch can be used in many different ways and is decorative, e.g.

 Sew the right-hand side of the zip, creating the seam as close as possible to

 Sew in the zip around 0.5 centimetres below the teeth using a bridge.
 To sew on the left-hand side of the zip, change the foot position on the
presser foot holder (29).
 Proceed in the same way as for the right-hand side of the zip (2).
 Before the foot reaches the slider on the zip band, lift the foot up and open
the zip, keeping the needle (26) in the material (3).
6.13.1. Sewing in a drawstring

You can also use the zip presser foot to sew in drawstrings, as shown in the il-
lustration.
 Fold the fabric over once to create a drawstring tunnel and then sew along
the drawstring, making sure the zip presser foot is behind the drawstring.

6.14.1. Mounting the darning plate

For some sewing work, e.g. sewing on buttons, hooks and eyes, as well as
darning and embroidering, the material must not be fed automatically and

 In these cases, you must attach the darning plate included in the accesso-
ries. Raise the presser foot lever (17) and turn the hand wheel (21) to raise
the needle (26) to its highest position.
 Now push both pins of the darning plate into the openings on the needle
plate (12) until they click into place, as shown in figures 1 and 2.
 To remove the darning plate again, you simply need to lift up the corners.
6.14.2. Darning
 Remove the presser foot holder (29) and select the normal lower thread
tension.
The upper thread tension should be somewhat looser than usual.

 Keep your fingers out of the embroidery frame to avoid
injuries.
TIP
We recommend drawing the desired embroidery pattern on the upper side of
the fabric in pencil or tailor's chalk (available from specialist retailers).
6.16. Sewing on buttons and loops

 Place the darning plate on the feeder to stop the material from being fed

manually. The needle (26) must exactly enter the holes of the button, oth-
erwise the needle (26) may be damaged. If necessary, change the width of
the zigzag stitch.
 At a low speed, sew about 6 to 7 stitches per hole.
For buttons with four holes, the material is shifted with the button: then 6 to 7
stitches are sewn in the other holes. Once you have removed the fabric, pass a
generous length of the upper thread to the underside of the fabric and knot it
to the lower thread there.

6.16.1. Sewing buttons with a shank ES
In the case of heavy fabrics, a button shank is often needed.
 Place a needle (26) or, for a thicker shank, a matchstick on the button and EN
then proceed to sew as for a normal button.
 After about 10 stitches, remove the material from the machine. DE
 Pull the needle (26) or matchstick out of the material.
 Leave the upper thread a little longer and cut the upper thread off.
 Thread the upper thread through the button and wind it a few times
around the shank created, then pass it through to the underside of the fab-
ric and knot it to the lower thread.
6.17. Sewing with a twin needle (double needle)

The twin needle is available from well-stocked specialist retailers. When buy-
ing a twin needle, make sure that the distance between the two needles is no
more than 2.5 mm.
The twin needle can be used to create attractive, two-coloured patterns if you
use different coloured threads when sewing.
NOTICE
Your sewing machine has an automatic stitch width setting; therefore, you can
sew all stitches with a twin needle.
 In other programmes or at a great stitch width the needles can bend or

break. Attach the twin needle in the same way as you would a single nee-
dle (see Page 71).
 Place two equally fully cotton reels on the removable cotton reel hold-
ers (15).
 Make sure that the two felt discs included in the accessories are in place on
the two cotton reel holders (15).
 Pass the two threads through the thread holder in the same way as for a
single thread.
 Guide both threads through the upper thread tension discs making sure
that one thread goes to the right of the central disc and the second thread
goes to the left of the disc.
 Insert both threads in the thread guide (1).
 Insert one thread through the eye of the needle on the right-hand side,
and one thread on the left-hand side.
NOTICE
To sew a corner using the twin needle, take the needle out of the fabric, as
otherwise the twin needle may bend or break.

6.18. Sewing with the free arm
The free arm (11) enables you to sew tube-shaped pieces more easily. This
function is very useful, e.g. when sewing sleeves and trouser legs.
You can easily turn your sewing machine into a free-arm machine by removing
the table extension and accessories box from the sewing machine
The free arm (11) is particularly useful for the following work:
• Repairing elbows and knees in garments

Risk of injury!
Unintentional actuation of the foot switch can start up the DE
machine and lead to a risk of injury.
 Before carrying out any maintenance, cleaning or replace-
ment work, always turn off and unplug the machine.
7.1. Changing the sewing light
 You switch the sewing light on and off using the main switch (18).
 To open the front flap, use the supplied screwdriver to undo the screw in
the middle of the front cover (14).
 Now pull the front flap forwards.
 You can now change the light bulb by unscrewing it anticlockwise.
 Push the front flap back on again until it clicks into place and secure it with
the screw.
NOTICE
The maximum permitted light bulb power rating is 15W.
Light bulbs are available from specialist retailers.
7.2. Replacing the needle

 Turn the hand wheel (21) towards you until the needle (26) has reached its
top position.
 Loosen the needle clamp screw (24) by turning it towards you with the
screwdriver.
 Remove the needle (26) from the needle holder (32).
 Insert a new needle (26) with the flat side facing backwards. Push the nee-
dle (26) upwards until it can go no further.
 Tighten the needle clamp screw (24) again.
NOTICE
Needles are available from specialist retailers.

7.3. Removing and attaching the presser foot
 Removal: Turn the hand wheel (21) towards you until the needle (26) has
reached its top position.
 Raise the presser foot (28) by pushing up the presser foot lever (17).
 If you push up the presser foot release lever (31) behind the presser foot
holder (29), the presser foot (28) will drop out.
7.3.1. Attaching
 Attach the presser foot (28) so that the pin on the foot is directly under the
groove of the foot holder. Lower the presser foot lever (17).
 Now push the presser foot release lever (31) upwards. The presser foot (28)
automatically clicks into place.

The presser foot holder (29) does not need to be removed unless you want to
darn or embroider, or make space to clean the fabric feeder. EN
7.4.1. Removing

 Move the needle (26) to its top position by turning the hand wheel (21) to-
wards you and raise the presser foot lever (17).
 Remove the foot from the presser foot holder (29) and undo the presser
foot holder screw (30) using the screwdriver provided.
7.4.2. Attaching
 Move the needle (26) to its top position by turning the hand wheel (21) to-
wards you and raise the presser foot lever (17).
 When you attach the presser foot holder (29), push it upwards as far as pos-
sible and tighten the presser foot holder screw (30) using the screwdriver
provided.
7.5. Caring for the sewing machine

The sewing machine is a sensitive mechanical product and requires regular
maintenance to ensure it always functions perfectly.
You can carry out this maintenance yourself.
Above all, maintenance means Cleaning and oiling.
NOTICE
Only use high-quality sewing machine oils. Other oils are not suitable.
Please note that after oiling, there may be oil residue in the machine. To get rid
of this residue, sew a few stitches on a swatch or scrap of fabric. This will stop
your actual fabric from getting soiled.

7.5.1. Cleaning the housing and foot control
Before cleaning, pull the mains plug out of the socket.
Use a dry, soft cloth to clean the housing and foot control. Avoid the use of
chemical solutions and cleaning products because these may damage the sur-
face or markings of the machine.
7.5.2. Cleaning the feeder

 It is necessary to keep the fabric feeder teeth clean to ensure perfect sew-
ing. Remove the needle (26) and the presser foot (28) (see Page 71 ff.).
 Remove the screws on the needle plate (12) to remove the needle plate
from the machine.
 Use a brush to remove dust and loose threads from the feeder teeth.
 Replace the needle plate (12).
7.5.3. Cleaning and oiling the bobbin housing

 Move the needle (26) to its highest position, otherwise the shuttle cannot
be removed.
 Remove the bobbin case.
 Turn the snap lever outwards as illustrated and remove the shuttle track
ring.
 Remove the shuttle by holding the pin in the centre of the shuttle.
 Remove all dirt from the shuttle track ring of the shuttle track and oil the
parts using a cloth.

 Put one or two drops of oil on the bobbin shuttle track, as illustrated.

 Now reassemble all the components in the reverse order.

7.6. Oiling the machine

Your sewing machine is delivered oiled and ready for use.
7.6.1. Oiling the machine behind the front flap

The places that need to be oiled are marked with an arrow on the illustration.
You should clean these areas before oiling them. Put one or two drops of a
good sewing machine oil on these areas.

If the machine does not run perfectly after being out of use for a long period
of time, run the oiled machine at high speed for about a minute with the front
flap closed.
Do not forget to first sew on a fabric scrap to absorb any leaked oil.
TIP
These parts of the machine may need to be oiled more frequently, depending
on how often you use the machine.

9. Fabric, thread and needle table
As a general rule, fine threads and needles are used to sew thin fabrics, thicker threads and needles are used for heavier
fabrics. Always test the thread and needle thickness on a scrap of the fabric you intend to use. Use the same thread for
needle and bobbin. If you sew stretch seams on fine fabrics or synthetics, use a needle with a blue shaft (available from
specialist retailers). These prevent stitches from being missed.

Die Nähmaschine kann zum Zusammennähen und Verzieren der Nähte von leichtem bis schwerem Nähgut verwendet
werden.
Das Nähgut kann aus textilen Fasern, zusammengesetzten Materialien oder leichtem Leder bestehen.
• Das Gerät ist nur für den privaten und nicht für den industriellen/kommerziellen Gebrauch bestimmt.
Bitte beachten Sie, dass im Falle des nicht bestimmungsgemäßen Gebrauchs die Haftung erlischt:
• Bauen Sie das Gerät nicht ohne unsere Zustimmung um und verwenden Sie keine nicht von uns genehmigten oder
gelieferten Zusatzgeräte.

2.1. Elektrische Geräte nicht in Kinderhände EN
• Dieses Gerät kann von Kindern ab 8 Jahren sowie von Personen mit reduzierten physi-

schen, sensorischen oder mentalen Fähigkeiten oder Mangel an Erfahrung und/oder
Wissen benutzt werden, wenn sie beaufsichtigt werden oder bezüglich des sicheren
Gebrauchs des Gerätes unterwiesen wurden und die daraus resultierenden Gefahren ver-
standen haben. Kinder dürfen nicht mit dem Gerät spielen. Reinigung und Benutzerwar-
tung dürfen nicht durch Kinder durchgeführt werden, es sei denn, sie sind älter als 8 Jah-
re und beaufsichtigt.

2.2. Netzkabel und Netzanschluss
• Schließen Sie das Gerät nur an eine gut erreichbare Steckdose (220 - 240 V ~ 50 Hz) an,
es
die sich in der Nähe des Aufstellortes befindet. Für den Fall, dass Sie das Gerät schnell
vom Netz nehmen müssen, muss die Steckdose frei zugänglich sein.
• Wenn Sie den Stecker ziehen, fassen Sie immer den Stecker selbst an und ziehen Sie nicht
am Kabel.
• Wickeln Sie das Kabel während des Betriebs ganz ab.

• Netzkabel und Verlängerungskabel müssen so verlegt werden, dass niemand darüber

stolpern kann.
• Das Kabel darf keine heißen Flächen berühren.
• Ziehen Sie den Netzstecker, wenn Sie die Maschine verlassen. Damit verhindern Sie Un-
fallgefahr durch versehentliches Einschalten.
• Schalten Sie für folgende Tätigkeiten die Nähmaschine aus und ziehen Sie den Netzste-

cker ab: Einfädeln, Nadelwechsel, Nähfuß einstellen, Glühlampe ersetzen, Reinigungs-

und Wartungsarbeiten, sowie am Ende der Näharbeiten und bei Arbeitsunterbrechung.

• Lassen Sie die eingeschaltete Nähmaschine niemals unbeaufsichtigt.
• Benutzen Sie die Maschine nicht im Freien.
• Benutzen Sie die Maschine nicht in feuchtem Zustand oder in feuchter Umgebung.
• Gerät darf nur mit dem mitgelieferten Fußanlasser Typ KD 2902 in Betrieb genommen
werden.

2.4. Niemals selbst reparieren

Stromschlaggefahr!
Bei unsachgemäßer Reparatur besteht die Gefahr eines elektrischen Schlags!
 Versuchen Sie auf keinen Fall, das Gerät zu öffnen oder selbst zu reparieren!
 Wenden Sie sich im Störungsfall oder wenn die Anschlussleitung dieses Ge-
rätes beschädigt ist an das Service Center oder eine andere geeignete Fach-
werkstatt.
• Ziehen Sie bei Beschädigung des Geräts oder der Anschlussleitung sofort den Netzste-
cker aus der Steckdose.
• Das Gerät darf bei sichtbarer Beschädigung der Nähmaschine oder der Anschlussleitung
nicht verwendet werden, um Gefährdungen zu vermeiden.
• Wenn die Anschlussleitung dieses Geräts beschädigt ist, muss sie durch den Hersteller
oder seinen Kundendienst oder eine ähnlich qualifizierte Person ersetzt werden, um Ge-
fährdungen zu vermeiden.
2.5. Sicher mit dem Gerät umgehen
• Stellen Sie die Nähmaschine auf eine ebene, feste Arbeitsfläche.
• Während des Betriebs müssen die Luftöffnungen frei bleiben: Lassen Sie keine Gegen-
stände (z. B. Staub, Fadenreste usw.) in die öffnungen eindringen.
• Halten Sie den Fußanlasser frei von Fusseln, Staub und Stoffabfällen.
• Stellen Sie niemals etwas auf das Fußpedal.
• Verwenden Sie nur die mitgelieferten Zubehörteile.
• Verwenden Sie zum Ölen nur spezielle Nähmaschinenöle. Benutzen Sie keine anderen
Flüssigkeiten.
• Seien Sie vorsichtig bei der Bedienung der beweglichen Teile der Maschine, insbesonders
der Nadel. Es besteht Verletzungsgefahr auch dann, wenn die Maschine nicht am Strom-
netz ist!
• Achten Sie beim Nähen darauf, dass Sie nicht mit den Fingern unter die Nadelhal-
teschraube kommen.
• Benutzen Sie keine verbogenen oder stumpfen Nadeln.
• Halten Sie den Stoff beim Nähen nicht fest und ziehen Sie nicht am Stoff. Die Nadeln kön-
nen brechen.
• Stellen Sie die Nadel am Schluss der Näharbeit immer in die höchste Position.
• Schalten Sie beim Verlassen der Maschine, vor Wartungsarbeiten oder beim Auswechseln
von Lampen immer die Maschine aus und ziehen Sie den Netzstecker aus der Steckdose.
2.6. Reinigung und Aufbewahrung
• Vor der Reinigung ziehen Sie bitte den Netzstecker aus der Steckdose. Für die Reinigung
verwenden Sie ein trockenes, weiches Tuch. Vermeiden Sie chemische Lösungs- und Rei-
nigungsmittel, weil diese die Oberfläche und/oder Beschriftungen des Gerätes beschädi-
gen können.
• Zur Aufbewahrung decken Sie die Nähmaschine immer mit der beiliegenden Abdeck-
haube ab, um die Maschine vor Staub zu schützen.

3.3. Elektrische Anschlüsse
 Der Stromschalter schaltet sowohl die Maschine als auch das Nählicht ein.
Stecken Sie den Kupplungsstecker des mitgelieferten Fußanlassers in das
Steckergehäuse (19) an der Maschine und dann den Netzstecker in die
Steckdose.
Verwenden Sie nur den mitgelieferten Fußanlasser Typ KD 2902.
Schalten Sie beim Verlassen der Maschine, vor Wartungsarbeiten oder beim
Auswechseln von Lampen immer die Maschine aus und ziehen Sie den Netz-
stecker aus der Steckdose.
3.4. Standfestigkeit der Nähmaschine

Mit dem Regulierungsfuß können Sie die Standfestigkeit der Nähmaschine
justieren.
 Drehen Sie den Regulierungsfuß nach rechts, um ihn hinunter zu drehen,
oder nach links, um ihn herauf zu drehen.
 Justieren Sie den Fuß so, dass die Nähmaschine gerade auf der Arbeitsplat-
te steht und nicht wackelt.
3.5. Steuern der Nähgeschwindigkeit

Die Nähgeschwindigkeit wird über den Fußanlasser gesteuert. Die Nähge-
schwindigkeit kann dadurch verändert werden, dass man mehr oder weniger
Druck auf den Fußanlasser ausübt.
3.6. Ansetzen und Entfernen des Anschiebetisches

Die Maschine wird mit einem angesetzen Arbeitstisch geliefert. Das Innere des
Anschiebetisches ist hohl und kann als Aufbewahrungsort für den Zubehör-
beutel genutzt werden.
 Der Anschiebetisch wird entfernt, indem Sie ihn vorsichtig nach links weg-
schieben.
 Zum Ansetzen des Anschiebetisches setzen Sie ihn vorsichtig an die Ma-
schine an und schieben ihn nach rechts, bis er hörbar einrastet.

4.1. Aufspulen der Unterfadenspule EN
Die Unterfadenspulen lassen sich schnell und einfach mit der Nähmaschine
aufspulen. DE
Dazu führen Sie den Faden von der Garnrolle durch die Fadenführung (1) hin
zur Spule.
Die genaue Vorgehensweise für das Aufspulen entnehmen Sie bitte den fol-
genden Punkten:
 Stellen Sie den Wahlschalter (22) im Handrad (21) auf das Spulensymbol,
damit sich die Nadel (26) während des Aufspulens nicht mitbewegt.
 Setzen Sie einen der Garnrollenhalter (15) in die dafür vorgesehenen Aus-
sparungen ein und stecken Sie eine Garnrolle darauf.
 Führen Sie nun den Faden von der Garnrolle, wie in der Abbildung ersicht-
lich, durch die Fadenführung (1). Führen Sie den Faden von vorne nach hin-
ten durch die Fadenführung (1), so dass der Faden sich kreuzt.
 Fädeln Sie das Garnende wie abgebildet durch das Loch der Spule und wi-
ckeln Sie den Faden mit der Hand einige Umdrehungen auf die Spule.

 Stecken Sie die Spule auf die Spulenspindel (4), wobei das Fadenende
oben auf der Spule ist. Schwenken Sie die Spulenspindel (4) nach rechts
gegen den Spulenanschlag (5), bis er hörbar einrastet.
 Halten Sie das Fadenende fest und betätigen Sie den Fußanlasser. Sobald
die Spule ein wenig aufgespult ist, lassen Sie das Fadenende los. Spulen Sie
auf, bis die Spulenspindel (4) automatisch stoppt.
 Schwenken Sie die Spulenspindel (4) nach links und entfernen Sie die Spu-
le.

 Schneiden Sie den Faden ab.

 Stellen Sie den Wahlschalter (22) im Handrad (21) wieder auf das Nadel-
symbol. Die Nadel (26) bewegt sich nun wieder, wenn Sie den Fußanlasser

4.2. Entfernen der Spulenkapsel ES
 Entfernen Sie den Anschiebetisch.
 Stellen Sie die Nadel (26) durch Drehen des Handrades (21) sowie den Näh- EN
fuß in die oberste Position und öffnen Sie die Spulenkapselabdeckung (10)
wie in der Abbildung gezeigt. DE
 Öffnen Sie den Kipphebel der Spulenkapsel und ziehen Sie diese aus der
Maschine.
 Wenn Sie den Kipphebel loslassen, fällt die Spule von selbst aus der Spu-
lenkapsel heraus.
4.3. Einfädeln der Spulenkapsel

 Halten Sie die Spule zwischen Daumen und Zeigefinger Ihrer rechten Hand
und lassen Sie ca. 15 cm des Fadens heraushängen.
 Halten Sie die Spulenkapsel in Ihrer linken Hand und setzen Sie die Spule
in die Spulenkapsel ein.
 Führen Sie das Fadenende in den Schlitz am Rand der Spulenkapsel ein.
 Nun geben Sie den Faden unter der Spannungsfeder hindurch und in das
Fadenloch. Versichern Sie sich, dass ca. 15 cm des Fadens aus der Spule he-
raushängen.

4.4. Einsetzen der Spulenkapsel
 Halten Sie die Spulenkapsel so, dass der Finger der Kapsel nach oben zeigt.
Öffnen Sie den Kipphebel der Spulenkapsel.
 Setzen Sie die Spulenkapsel auf den mittleren Stift und drücken Sie die
Kapsel vorsichtig hinein, bis der Finger der Spulenkapsel in den Greifer-
bahnring eintritt.
 Lassen Sie die Klappe los und drücken Sie sie auf die Spulenkapsel.
 Schließen Sie die Spulenkapselabdeckung (10).

4.5. Einfädeln des Oberfadens ES
Bitte lesen Sie die folgenden Anweisungen genau durch, da eine falsche Rei-
henfolge oder Fadenführung zu Fadenrissen, Stichauslassungen und Zusam- EN
menziehen des Stoffes führen kann.
 Auf der Frontklappe ist noch einmal die schematische Darstellung der Fa- DE
denführung abgebildet, orientieren Sie sich auch an dieser Zeichnung.
 Bringen Sie vor dem Einfädeln die Nadel (26) durch Drehen des Handra-
des (21) und den Nähfußhebel (17) in die oberste Stellung.
 Setzen Sie eine Garnrolle auf einen der Garnrollenhalter (15), wobei der Fa-
den über die Rückseite der Garnrolle nach vorne führen soll.
 Halten Sie die Garnrolle mit der rechten Hand.
HINWEIS!
Die Abbildung dient nur der Verdeutlichung, die Frontklappe muss nicht ge-
öffnet werden.
 Führen Sie nun den Faden durch die Oberfadenführung (9).
 Lassen Sie danach den Faden zwischen den Spannungsscheiben des Ober-
fadenspannungsreglers (3) durchlaufen.
TIPP
Eine Oberfadenspannung von 3 ist für die meisten Anwendungen ideal.

 Führen Sie den Faden unter der vorderen Fadenführung hindurch nach
oben, dabei wird die innere Führungsfeder automatisch hinaufgeschoben.
 Fädel Sie dann den Faden von rechts nach links in den Haken des Fadenhe-
bers (2) ein.
HINWEIS
Drehen Sie ggf. am Handrad (21), um den Fadenheber (2) bis oben anzuheben.
 Führen Sie den Faden nun wieder nach unten in Richtung Nadel (26), dabei
wird er durch die interne Fadenführung und die Fadenführung der Nadel-
halterung (32) gelegt.
 Fädeln Sie nun den Faden von vorne nach hinten durch das Nadelöhr und
lassen Sie ein Fadenende von ca. 10 cm übrig.

5. Einstellungen
5.1. Einstellung der Fadenspannung
Wenn der Faden beim Nähen reißt, ist die Fadenspannung zu hoch.
Wenn sich beim Nähen kleine Schlaufen bilden, ist die Fadenspannung zu
niedrig.
In beiden Fällen muss die Fadenspannung eingestellt werden.
Dabei müssen Oberfaden- und Unterfadenspannung im richtigen Verhältnis
zueinander stehen.
5.1.1. Regulierung der Oberfadenspannung

Die Spannung wird von den Scheiben, durch die der Faden geführt wird, er-
zeugt. Der Druck auf diese Scheiben wird durch den Oberfadenspannungsreg-
ler (3) reguliert.
Je höher die Zahl, desto fester die Spannung.
HINWEIS
Eine Oberfadenspannung von 3 ist für die meisten Näharbeiten geeignet.
Die Oberfadenspannung wird erst durch das Herablassen des Nähfußes akti-
viert.
Es gibt mehrere Gründe, die Spannung zu regulieren. So muss z. B. die Span-

nung für verschiedene Stoffe auch verschieden stark sein.
Die benötigte Spannung hängt von der Festigkeit und Dicke des Stoffes ab,
wie viele Lagen Stoff genäht werden sollen, und welche Stichart Sie wählen.
Bitte achten Sie darauf, dass die Spannung von Ober- und Unterfaden gleich-
mäßig ist, da es sonst zu einem Zusammenziehen des Stoffes kommen kann.
Wir empfehlen, vor jeder Näharbeit auf einem Stoffrest eine Probenaht zu ma-
chen.
5.1.2. Regulierung der Unterfadenspannung

Die Unterfadenspannung muss selten reguliert werden, da diese bereits vom
Hersteller für das Nähen allgemeiner Näharbeiten eingestellt ist.
Die Unterfadenspannung ist gerade richtig, wenn Sie den Faden leicht mit ei-
nem kleinen Widerstand aus der Spule herausziehen können.
Für besonders leichte oder schwere Stoffe muss der Unterfaden jedoch regu-
liert werden.
Die Unterfadenspannung verstellen Sie an der Einstellschraube der Spulen-
kapsel. Benutzen Sie zum Einstellen den kleinen beiliegenden Schraubendre-
her.
Nehmen Sie die Spulenkapsel heraus.
Niedrige Spannung:
Schraube gegen den Uhrzeigersinn drehen
Höhere Spannung:
Schraube im Uhrzeigersinn drehen.

5.1.3. Unterfadenspannung überprüfen ES
Die einfachste Art die Unterfadenspannung zu überprüfen ist das Nähen eines
mittleren Zickzackstichs auf dem Stoff, den Sie nähen wollen. EN
Benutzen Sie dazu die vorgesehene Nadel (26) und Fäden.
Besonders deutlich wird es, wenn Sie für Ober- und Unterfaden verschieden DE
farbige Fäden benutzen.
Nähen Sie nun einige Zickzackstiche.
Die Fadenspannung ist richtig, wenn Sie den Unterfaden nicht auf der Ober-
seite des Stoffes zu sehen bekommen.
Achten Sie darauf, dass Sie immer gleichmäßige Stiche nähen (siehe nebenste-
hende Abbildung).
5.2. Überprüfen der Fadenspannungen

5.2.1. Richtige Naht
Die richtige Einstellung von Ober- und Unterfadenspannung sollte gerade so
fest sein, dass sich die Verschlingungen der Fäden in der Mitte des Stoffes be-
finden.
Der Stoff bleibt glatt und bildet keine Falten.
5.2.2. Unsaubere Nähte

Der Oberfaden ist zu fest und zieht den Unterfaden nach oben. Der Unterfa-
den erscheint auf der oberen Stofflage.
Lösung:
Oberfadenspannung durch Drehen des Oberfadenspannungsreglers (3) nied-
riger einstellen.
Der Oberfaden ist zu locker. Der Unterfaden zieht den Oberfaden nach unten.
Der Oberfaden erscheint auf der Unterseite der Stofflage.
Lösung:
Oberfadenspannung durch Drehen des Oberfadenspannungsreglers (3) auf
höher einstellen.
In beiden Fällen von unsauberen Nähten müssen Sie eventuell auch die Unter-
fadenspannung regulieren.

6. Nähen
6.1. Allgemeines
 Schalten Sie den Hauptschalter (18) ein.
 Stellen Sie die Nadel (26) beim Wechsel der Sticharten immer in die höchs-
te Position. Schieben Sie den Stoff weit genug unter den Nähfuß (28). Las-
sen Sie Ober- und Unterfaden etwa 10 cm nach hinten überstehen.
 Den Nähfußhebel (17) herablassen. Während Sie den Faden mit Ihrer linken
Hand festhalten, drehen Sie das Handrad (21) zu sich und bringen die Na-
del (26) auf jene Stelle des Stoffes, wo Sie zu nähen beginnen wollen.
 Betätigen Sie den Fußanlasser – je mehr der Fußanlasser durchgetreten
wird, umso schneller läuft die Maschine. Führen Sie den Stoff beim Nähen
sanft mit der Hand. Nähen Sie einige Rückwärtsstiche durch Bedienen des
Rückwärtshebels (8), um die ersten Nahtstiche zu fixieren.
TIPP
Wenn Sie sich unsicher sind, ob zum Beispiel die Fadenspannung oder Stichart
stimmen, probieren Sie die Einstellungen an einem Stoffmuster aus.
Der Stoff läuft automatisch unter dem Nähfuß (28) durch: Er darf nicht mit den
Händen aufgehalten oder gezogen, sondern nur leicht geführt werden, damit
die Naht die von Ihnen gewünschte Richtung erhält.
6.2. Auswahl der richtigen Nadel

Die Nummer, die die Stärke der Nadel (26) anzeigt, ist auf dem Schaft ange-
bracht.
Je höher die Nummer, desto stärker die Nadel (26).
ACHTUNG!
Beschädigungsgefahr!
Die Benutzung einer defekten Nadel, kann zu Schäden am
Nähgut führen.
 Wechseln Sie defekte Nadeln umgehend aus.

6.3. Heben und Absenken des Nähfußes ES
Durch Heben oder Absenken des Nähfußhebels (17) geht der Nähfuß (28) hin-
auf oder hinunter. EN
Um dicke Stoffe nähen zu können, kann der Nähfuß (28) für zusätzlichen Spiel-
raum etwas angehoben werden. DE
6.4. Fingerschutz
Dieses Zubehörteil schützt Sie davor, mit der Hand unter die Nadel (26) zu ge-
langen.
6.5. Rückwärtsnähen
 Benutzen Sie das Rückwärtsnähen zum Verstärken am Anfang und Ende ei-
ner Naht drücken Sie den Rückwärtshebel (8) nach unten und halten Sie
ihn gedrückt.
 Betätigen Sie den Fußanlasser – je mehr der Fußanlasser durchgetreten
wird, desto schneller läuft die Maschine.
 Wenn Sie wieder auf Vorwärtsstich umschalten wollen, lassen Sie den
Rückwärtshebel (8) einfach los.
6.6. Stoff aus der Nähmaschine nehmen

Beenden Sie Ihre Näharbeiten immer so, dass die Nadel (26) in der höchsten
Position ist. Um den Stoff zu entfernen, heben Sie den Nähfuß (28) und ziehen
Sie den Stoff von sich weg nach hinten.

6.7. Wechseln der Nährichtung
 Wenn Sie an den Ecken des Nähguts die Nährichtung ändern wollen, ge-
hen Sie wie folgt vor:Stoppen Sie die Maschine und drehen Sie das Hand-
rad (21) so weit zu sich, bis die Nadel (26) im Stoff steckt.
 Heben Sie den Nähfuß (28).
 Drehen Sie den Stoff um die Nadel (26), um die Richtung wie gewünscht
zu ändern.
 Senken Sie den Nähfuß (28) wieder und fahren Sie mit dem Nähen fort.
6.8. Durchtrennen des Fadens

Durchtrennen Sie den Faden mit dem Fadenschneider (13) an der Seite der

Fronklappe oder mit einer Schere. Geben Sie an Fadenlänge ca. 25 cm ab Na-
delöhr zu.

6.9. Der Programmwahlknopf ES
Bei dieser Nähmaschine stehen Ihnen verschiedene Nutz- und Zierstiche zur
Auswahl. Mit dem Programmwahlknopf (6) können Sie einfach das gewünsch- EN
te Stichmuster einstellen.
 Versichern Sie sich immer vor einem Stichwechsel, dass die Nadel (26) sich DE
in der obersten Position befindet.
 Drehen Sie den Programmwahlknopf (6) so, dass die gewünschte Stichart
an dem Markierungszeichen steht.
HINWEIS!
Die Nähprogramm 17 bis 32 werden automatisch ausgeführt, wenn Sie den
Stichlängenregler auf die Position 17 ~ 32 stellen. Wenn Sie z. B. den Pro-
grammwahlknopf auf die Position 8 stellen und den Stichlängenregler auf 17
~ 32 wird automatisch das Programm 24 ausgeführt.
6.10. Stichlängeneinstellung
 Mit dem Stichlängenregler (7) können Sie die Länge des Stichmusters
wählen. Drehen Sie den Stichlängenregler (7) so, dass die Nummer der ge-
wünschten Stichlänge an der Markierung steht.
 Die Nummern zeigen die ungefähre Stichlänge in Millimetern.
6.11. Sticharten (Programme)

Die Sticharten werden am Programmwahlknopf (6) eingestellt. Achten Sie im-
mer darauf, dass sich die Nadel (26) in der höchsten Position befindet, bevor
Sie einen Stichartwechsel vornehmen.
Machen Sie vor jeder Anwendung eines Stichprogrammes einen Nähprobe auf
einem Stoffmuster.

Der sogenannte Satinstich, ein sehr enger Zickzackstich, eignet sich besonders

TIPP
Wenn Sie diesen Stich benutzen, sollten Sie die Oberfadenspannung etwas lo-

dünnes Papier unter den Stoff legen und mit nähen. So verhindern Sie das

Verwenden Sie eine Nähgarnfarbe, die genau zum Stoff passt.
Bei sehr leichten oder transparenten Stoffen verwenden Sie einen transparen-
ten Nylonfaden.
 Falten Sie den Stoff wie in der Abbildung gezeigt zusammen.
 Nähen Sie auf der Falte, wie gezeigt. Die geraden Stiche sollen auf dem
Saum sein, und die Spitzen der Zickzackstiche sollen jeweils nur in die obe-
re Falte des Stoffes stechen.
 Nehmen Sie nun den Stoff aus der Maschine und streichen Sie ihn glatt.
Der ausgefaltete Stoff zeigt nun einen Blindsaumstich.
6.11.8. Elastikstich: Dreifachgerad- und -zickzackstich

Verwenden Sie die Sticharten zum Nähen von elastischen Stoffen oder Strick,
dem Aufnähen von Gummibändern etc.
Der Dreifach-Stretchgerad- oder -zickzackstich ergibt eine besonders feste
Stichnaht, z. B. für Schrittnähte an Hosen, Ärmeleinsätzen, Inlets usw., die drei-
mal so stark ist wie eine normale Naht und die auch wesentlich dehnbarer ist.
Man kann die Naht zusammen mit dem Stoff spannen, ohne dass der Faden
reißt.

Verwenden Sie einen synthetischen Faden. Dadurch wird die Naht fast un-
sichtbar.
6.11.10. Zusammennähen zweier Stoffteile (Risen)

Mit dem Elastikstich können zwei Stoffteile stumpf zusammengenäht werden.
 Legen Sie die zwei Stoffkanten unter den Nähfuß. Achten Sie darauf, dass
beide Kanten beisammen bleiben und die Nadel (26) links und rechts
gleichmäßig in den Stoff sticht.
6.11.11. Aufnähen von Gummibändern

 Legen Sie das Gummiband an der gewünschten Stelle auf.
 Das Gummiband mit dem Elastikstich aufnähen, wobei das Band vor und
hinter dem Nähfuß mit den Händen gespannt wird. Je stärker die Span-
nung desto dichter wird die Kräuselung.

Kleidungsstück einsetzen.
Bei sehr leichten Stoffen kann dieselbe Wirkung mit einem elastischen Faden

6.11.13. Überwendlingsstich
Dieser Stich ist besonders geeignet, Jersey und Jogging-Anzüge zu nähen und
zu flicken. Dieser Stich ist genauso dekorativ wie nützlich. Er besteht aus glat-
ten Seitenlinien mit Querverbindungen und ist absolut elastisch.

 Zum Abschluss empfiehlt es sich die Stichlänge auf „0“ zu setzen und noch
einige Stiche zu nähen, damit die Fäden besser verknüpft werden und das
Knopfloch nicht so schnell ausfranst.
 Zum Abschluss trennen Sie mit dem beigefügten Trennmesser noch den
Stoff zwischen den Nähten auf. Gehen Sie dabei sehr vorsichtig zu Werke,
damit Sie keinen der Riegel beschädigen.
TIPP
Um ein Durchtrennen des oberen Riegels zu vermeiden, empfiehlt es sich,
eine Stecknadel vor den Riegel zu stecken.
6.13. Reißverschlüsse einnähen

Je nachdem, welche Seite des Reißverschlussbandes Sie nähen, muss der Näh-
fuß immer auf dem Stoff aufliegen.
Aus diesem Grund wird der Nähfuß entweder auf der linken oder rechten Seite
befestigt, nicht in der Mitte wie alle anderen Nähfüße.
 Stellen Sie den Nähfuß und die Nadel (26) in die höchste Position , um den
Nähfuß auszuwechseln.
 Heften Sie den Reißverschluss auf den Stoff und legen Sie das Werkstück
unter den Fuß in Position.
 Um die rechte Seite des Reißverschlusses anzunähen, fixieren Sie den Reiß-
verschluss-Nähfuß so, dass die Nadel (26) auf der linken Seite näht (1).
 Nähen Sie auf der rechten Seite des Reißverschlusses, wobei die Naht so
nahe wie möglich an die Zähne herangeführt werden soll. (1)
 Nähen Sie den Reißverschluss etwas 0,5 Zentimeter unterhalb der Zähne
mit einem Steg fest.
 Um die linke Seite des Reißverschlusses anzunähen, wechseln Sie die Fuß-
position am Nähfußhalter (29).
 Nähen Sie in der gleichen Weise wie auf der rechten Seite des Reißver-
schlusses (2).
 Bevor der Fuß den Schieber auf dem Reißverschlussband erreicht, heben
Sie den Fuß nach oben und öffnen Sie den Reißverschluss, wobei die Na-
del (26) im Material bleibt (3).
6.13.1. Kordeln einnähen

Mit dem Reißverschluss-Nähfuß könne Sie auch leicht Kordeln einnähen, wie
in der Abbildung zusehen.
 Schlagen Sie den Stoff einmal um, so dass ein Kordelzugtunnel entsteht
und nähen Sie dann an der Kordel entlang wobei der Reißverschluss-Näh-
fuß hinter der Kordel liegen muss.

6.14. Stopfen ES
6.14.1. Stopfplatte montieren

Bei verschiedenen Näharbeiten, z. B. Annähen von Knöpfen, Haken, Ösen so-
wie zum Stopfen und Sticken, ist es erforderlich, dass kein automatischer

Transport des Nähguts erfolgt, sondern Sie den Transport des Nähguts selbst
kontrollieren können.
 In diesen Fällen müssen Sie die im Zubehör enthaltene Stopfplatte montie-
ren. Stellen Sie den Nähfußhebel (17) nach oben und bringen Sie die Na-
del (26) durch das Drehen des Handrades (21) in die höchste Position.
 Drücken Sie nun die beiden Stifte der Stopfplatte in die entsprechenden
Öffnungen der Stichplatte (12), bis sie einrasten, wie in Abb. 1 und 2 ge-
zeigt.
 Um die Stopfplatte wieder zu entfernen, brauchen Sie nur die Ecken anhe-
ben.
6.14.2. Stopfen
 Entfernen Sie den Nähfußhalter (29) und wählen Sie die normale Unterfa-
denspannung.
Die Oberfadenspannung sollte etwas lockerer sein als normal.

Wenn nötig, können Sie die schadhafte Stelle noch mit einem Stück Stoff un-
terlegen.
 Legen Sie die Arbeit unter die Nadel (26) und lassen Sie den Nähfußhe-
bel (17) herab, damit die Fadenspannung wirksam wird.
 Durch langsames Vor- und Rückschieben des Stoffes mit der Hand begin-
nen Sie langsam zu nähen.
 Wiederholen Sie diesen Vorgang solange, bis die schadhafte Stelle dicht
mit parallel liegenden Stichen ausgefüllt ist.
 Falls notwendig, kann noch einmal, wie beim Stopfen mit der Hand, in
Querrichtung überstopft werden.
TIPP
Während des Stopfen muss der Stoff gut gespannt sein. Wenn die beschädig-
te Stelle groß ist, empfiehlt es sich, das Nähgut in einen Stickrahmen (im Fach-
handel erhältlich) einzuspannen.

6.15.1. Allgemeines

Die Oberfadenspannung muss so locker eingestellt werden, dass der Unterfa-

den nicht auf die rechte Seite des Stoffen gezogen wird.
 Spannen Sie den Stoff in den Stickrahmen (im Fachhandel erhältlich).
 Senken Sie den Nähfußhalter (29), damit die Fadenspannung wirksam wird.
 Halten Sie den Stickrahmen mit Ihrer Hand fest, während Sie das ge-
wünschte Muster nähen. Bewegen Sie nicht den Stoff, sondern immer den
Stickrahmen.
VORSICHT!
Verletzungsgefahr!
Ohne Nähfuß und Fingerschutz, besteht die Gefahr einer
Verletzung durch den direkten Zugriff auf den Nähmecha-
nismus.
 Halten Sie die Finger immer außerhalb des Stickrahmes,
um Verletzungen zu vermeiden.
TIPP
Wir empfehlen Ihnen, das gewünschte Stickmuster auf der rechten Stoffseite
mit Bleistift oder Schneiderkreide (im Fachhandel erhältlich) aufzuzeichen.
6.16. Knöpfe und Ösen annähen

 Setzen Sie die Stopfplatte auf den Transporteur, damit kein Strofftransport
erfolgt.

 Lassen Sie den Nähfuß (28) herab und legen Sie dabei den Knopf so zwi-
schen Stoff und Nähfuß (28), dass der Zickzackstich in die Löcher des Knop-
fes trifft, wie auf der Abbildung zu sehen.
 Kontrollieren Sie die richtige Lage des Knopfes durch Drehen des Hand-
rades (21) von Hand. Die Nadel (26) muss exakt in die Löcher des Knopfes
stechen, um eine Beschädigung der Nadel (26) zu vermeiden. Falls nötig,
ändern Sie die Breite des Zickzackstiches.
 Nähen Sie mit niedriger Geschwindigkeit 6 bis 7 Stiche pro Loch.
Bei Knöpfen mit vier Löchern wird der Stoff mit dem Knopf verschoben: dann
werden auch in die anderen Löcher 6 bis 7 Stiche genäht. Nach dem Entfernen
des Stoffes bringen Sie den großzügig abgeschnittenen Oberfaden auf die Un-
terseite des Stoffes und verknüpfen ihn dort mit dem Unterfaden.

6.16.1. Knöpfe mit Stiel annähen ES
Bei schweren Materialen wird oft ein Knopfstiel benötigt.
 Legen Sie eine Nadel (26) oder bei einem stärkeren Stiel ein Zündholz auf EN
den Knopf und verfahren Sie dann genau wie beim normalen Knopf annä-
hen.

 Nehmen Sie das Nähgut nach ca. 10 Stichen aus der Maschine.
 Ziehen Sie die Nadel (26) oder das Zündholz aus dem Nähgut.
 Lassen Sie den Oberfaden etwas länger und schneiden Sie den Oberfaden
ab.
 Fädeln Sie den Oberfaden durch den Knopf und wickeln ihn einige Male
um den entstandenen Stiel, danach führen Sie ihn auf die Stoffunterseite
und verknüpfen ihn mit dem Unterfaden.
6.17. Nähen mit einer Zwillingsnadel

(Doppelnadel)
Die Zwillingsnadel ist im gutsortierten Fachhandel erhältlich. Achten Sie beim
Kauf darauf, dass der Abstand zwischen den beiden Nadeln nicht 2,5 mm
überschreiten soll.
Mit der Zwillingsnadel lassen sich wunderschöne zweifarbige Muster erzeu-
gen, wenn Sie zum Nähen verschiedenfarbige Garne benutzen.
HINWEIS
Ihre Nähmaschine verfügt über eine automatische Stichbreiteneinstellung, da-
her können Sie alle Stiche auch mit einer Zwillingsnadel nähen.
 Bei anderen Programmen oder einer höheren Stichbreite können sich die
Nadeln verbiegen oder brechen. Setzen Sie die Zwillingsnadel auf die glei-
che Weise ein wie eine Einfachnadel (siehe Seite 111).
 Geben Sie zwei gleichvolle Garnrollen auf die ausziehbaren Garnrollenhal-
ter (15).
 Versichern Sie sich, dass Sie die beiden Filzscheiben, die im Zubehör mitge-
liefert werden, auf die beiden Garnrollenhalter (15) platziert haben.
 Fädeln Sie beide Fäden durch die Fadenhalterung ein, wie bei einem Ein-
zelfaden.
 Bei den Oberfadenspannungsscheiben führen Sie die beiden Fäden durch

die Scheiben, achten Sie darauf, dass ein Faden rechts von der mittleren
Scheibe verläuft und der zweite Faden links von der Scheibe.
 Führen Sie beide Fäden in die Fadenführung (1).
 Bei den Nadelöhren fädeln Sie einen Faden rechts und einen links ein.
HINWEIS
Um eine Ecke mit der Zwillingsnadel zu nähen, heben Sie die Nadel aus dem
Stoff heraus, da sonst die Zwillingsnadel brechen oder verbogen werden kann.

6.18. Nähen mit dem Freiarm
Der Freiarm (11) ermöglicht es Ihnen, röhrenförmige Stücke leichter zu nähen,
z. B. für das Nähen von Ärmeln und Hosenbeinen ist diese Funktion sehr hilf-
reich.
Ihre Nähmaschine kann leicht zu einer Freiarm-Maschine gemacht werden, in-
dem Sie den Anschiebetisch mit der Zubehörbox von der Nähmaschine ent-
fernen.
Bei folgenden Näharbeiten ist der Freiarm (11) besonders hilfreich:
• Ausbessern von Ellbogen und Knien in Kleidungsstücken.
• Ärmeln nähen, besonders bei kleineren Kleidungsstücken.
• Applikationen, Stickereien oder Säumen von Kanten, Manschetten oder
Hosenbeinen.
• Nähen von elastischen Taillenbündchen an Röcken oder Hosen.

ACHTUNG! EN
Verletzungsgefahr!
Durch ein unbeabsichtigtes Betätigen des Fußschalters, DE
kann die Maschine in Betrieb gesetzt werden und es besteht
Verletzungegfahr.
 Schalten Sie bitte vor allen Wartungs-, Reinigungs- und
Austauscharbeiten immer die Maschine aus und ziehen
Sie den Netzstecker.
7.1. Auswechseln der Nählampe
 Die Nählampe wird mittels des Hauptschalters (18) ein- bzw. ausgeschaltet.
 Zum Öffnen der Frontklappe lösen Sie mit dem mitgelieferten Schrauben-
dreher die Schraube in der Mitte der Frontabdeckung (14).
 Ziehen Sie nun die Frontklappe nach vorne ab.
 Wechsel Sie nun die Lampe, indem Sie sie gegen den Uhrzeigersinn her-
ausdrehen.
 Schieben Sie die Frontklappe wieder auf, bis sie hörbar einrastet und befes-
tigen Sie sie mit der Schraube.
HINWEIS
Die maximal zulässige Leistung der Lampe ist 15W.
Glühlampen sind im Fachhandel erhältlich.
7.2. Auswechseln der Nadel

 Drehen Sie das Handrad (21) zu sich, bis die Nadel (26) auf der höchsten
Position steht.
 Lösen Sie die Nadelhalteschraube (24) durch Drehen mit einem Schrauben-
dreher zu Ihnen hin.
 Entfernen Sie die Nadel (26) von der Nadelhalterung (32).
 Setzen Sie die neue Nadel (26) mit der flachen Seite nach hinten ein. Schie-
ben Sie die Nadel (26) bis zum Anschlag nach oben.
 Ziehen Sie die Nadelhalteschraube (24) wieder fest.
HINWEIS
Nadeln sind im Fachhandel erhältlich.

7.3. Entfernen und Einsetzen des Nähfußes
7.3.1. Entfernen
 Drehen Sie das Handrad (21) zu sich, bis die Nadel (26) ihre höchste Positi-
on erreicht hat.
 Heben Sie den Nähfuß (28) durch Hinaufdrücken des Nähfußhebels (17).
 Durch Hinaufdrücken des Nähfußauslösehebels (31), hinter dem Nähfuß-
halter (29), fällt der Nähfuß (28) herunter.
7.3.2. Einsetzen
 Legen Sie den Nähfuß (28) so auf, dass der Stift am Fuß direkt unter der Nut
des Fußhalters zum Liegen kommt. Senken Sie den Nähfußhebel (17).
 Drücken Sie nun noch den Nähfußauslösehebel (31) nach oben. Der Näh-
fuß (28) rastet nun automatisch ein.

7.4. Entfernen und Einsetzen des Nähfußhalters ES
Der Nähfußhalter (29) braucht nicht entfernt zu werden, es sei denn, Sie wol-
len entweder Stopfen, Sticken oder sich Raum zur Reinigung des Stofftrans- EN
porteurs verschaffen.
7.4.1. Entfernen DE
 Bringen Sie die Nadel (26) in ihre höchste Position durch Drehen des Hand-
rades (21) zu sich hin und stellen Sie den Nähfußhebel (17) nach oben.
 Entfernen Sie den Fuß vom Nähfußhalter (29) und lösen Sie die Nähfußhal-
terschraube (30) mit dem beigefügten Schraubendreher.
7.4.2. Einsetzen
 Bringen Sie die Nadel (26) in ihre höchste Position durch Drehen des Hand-
rades (21) zu sich hin und stellen Sie den Nähfußhebel (17) nach oben.
 Wenn Sie nun den Nähfußhalter (29) einsetzen, drücken Sie ihn so weit wie
möglich nach oben und ziehen Sie die Nähfußhalterschraube (30) mit dem
beigefügten Schraubendreher fest.
7.5. Pflege der Nähmaschine

Die Nähmaschine ist ein feinmechanisches Erzeugnis und braucht regelmäßig
Pflege, um stets einwandfrei zu funktionieren.
Für diese Pflege können Sie selbst sorgen.
Pflege heißt vor allem: Reinigen und Ölen.
HINWEIS
Verwenden Sie zum Ölen nur spezielle Nähmaschinenöle bester Qualität, da
andere öle nicht geeignet sind.
Beachten Sie, dass sich nach dem ölen Rückstände im Gerät befinden können.
Nähen Sie zur Beseitigung dieser Rückstände einige Stiche auf einem Muster-
stoffstück oder einem Stoffrest. So vermeiden Sie eine Verschmutzung Ihres
Nähguts.

7.5.1. Reinigen des Gehäuses und des Fußanlassers
Vor der Reinigung ziehen Sie bitte den Netzstecker aus der Steckdose.
Für die Reinigung des Gehäuses und des Fußanlassers verwenden Sie ein tro-
ckenes, weiches Tuch. Vermeiden Sie chemische Lösungs- und Reinigungsmit-
tel, weil diese die Oberfläche und/oder Beschriftungen des Gerätes beschädi-
gen können.
7.5.2. Reinigen des Transporteurs

 Es ist notwendig, die Stofftransporteurzähne immer sauber zu halten, um
ein einwandfreies Nähen zu gewährleisten. Entfernen Sie die Nadel (26)
und den Nähfuß (28) (siehe Seite 111 ff.).
 Öffnen Sie die Schrauben der Stichplatte (12), um diese von der Maschine
zu entfernen.
 Entfernen Sie mit einer Bürste Staub und Fadenreste von den Transporteur-
zähnen.
 Setzen Sie die Stichplatte (12) wieder ein.
7.5.3. Reinigen und Ölen des Spulengehäuses

 Bringen Sie die Nadel (26) in die höchste Stellung, ansonsten kann der
Greifer nicht herausgenommen werden.
 Nehmen Sie die Spulenkapsel heraus.
 Drehen Sie die Schnapphebel nach außen, wie gezeigt, und entfernen Sie
den Greiferbahnring.
 Entfernen Sie den Greifer, indem Sie den Zapfen in der Mitte des Greifers
festhalten.
 Entfernen Sie alle Schmutzteile aus dem Greiferbahnring der Greiferbahn
und ölen Sie die Teile mit einem Lappen.

eines guten Nähmaschinenöls auf diese Stellen.

Läuft die Maschine nicht einwandfrei, nachdem sie längere Zeit nicht mehr in
Betrieb war, lassen Sie die geölte Maschine bei geschlossener Frontklappe un-
gefähr eine Minute schnell laufen.
Vergessen Sie nicht, zuerst auf einem Stoffrest zu nähen, um eventuell austre-
tendes Öl aufzusaugen.

Je nach Gebrauchshäufigkeit soll dieser Teil der Maschine öfter geölt werden.

9. Stoff-, Garn- und Nadeltabelle
Generell werden feine Garne und Nadel für das Nähen von dünnen Stoffen verwendet, stärkere Garne und Nadeln wer-
den für schwere Stoffe verwendet. Testen Sie immer Garn- und Nadelstärke auf einem Stoffrest jenes Stoffes, den Sie
nähen wollen. Benutzen Sie dasselbe Garn für Nadel und Spule. Wenn Sie auf feinem Stoff oder Synthetiks Stretch-Näh-
te nähen, verwenden Sie Nadeln mit blauem Schaft (im Fachhandel erhältlich). Diese verhindern das Auslassen von Sti-
chen.
