How to Redeem your credits provided by the GDSC India team?

1) If you’re a new user (you haven’t created any projects on the Google Cloud
Platform) - navigate here
2) If you’re a user on the Google Cloud platform already (you have built projects on
the Google Cloud platform in the past), navigate here.

For New Users :

1. Please visit https://console.cloud.google.com/education to redeem your


credits.

2. Once there you can either log into your college account or personal Gmail.


3. If this is the first time starting a project on Google cloud, it should look
something like this:



4. Then you can select a current project or create a new one by clicking the
dropdown on the dashboard for My First Project.

5. Then select your new project

6. Good news, now you have a new project you can check out the balance of your
credit under Overview.


For existing users :

1. If this is not your first time starting a project on Google cloud, it should look
something like this :
You need to go to the Google Cloud console to be able to view this type of
screen.


2. You’ll want to click on account automation


3. Which opens a popup box of all your projects:


4. Then click on New Project- and fill in the information for your new project
○ Billing account gives a drop down and for credits, you'll pick Billing
Account for Education

○ Good news, now you have a new project you can check out the balance
of your credit under Overview.


FAQ:

1) I can’t see my project and/or how to apply my credit to my account:


(has used their university email address)
● If you're a Google Workspace for Education school, the Google Developer Console
needs to be turned on within the Google Workspace for Education console, by your
Google Workspace for Education Administrator. Otherwise, you will not be able to
create projects using school email addresses. We suggest reaching out to your Google
Workspace for Education Administrator if you are not able to create a project.
Alternatively, students can also retrieve a coupon using their edu account and then
redeem it in the GCP console using their personal Gmail account.

2) My account was turned off- Help!


● Good news, your account isn’t gone forever. Please add another coupon to your
account and you will be able to use it again.

3) How do I see how much money I’ve used?


● We would suggest checking out this help documentation for setting alerts to monitor
projects in the Console and you can also use the Cost Management Resource Guide to
share more resources about how to monitor and manage costs in GCP.

4) How do I look at what Google Cloud Resources I’ve used?


● We would suggest checking out this Set up Cloud Billing data export to BigQuery.

5) I want someone else to work on my project or give someone else


access
● We would suggest checking out Manage access to projects, folders, and organizations

6) How do I create and manage my project?


● We would suggest checking out Creating and managing projects.
