The Social Environment
The classroom social environment is comprised of students’ perceptions about how they
are encouraged to interact with and relate to others (e.g., classmates, the
teacher), and encompasses dimensions of:
(1) teacher support,
(2) promoting mutual
respect
(3) promoting student task-related interaction
(4) promoting performance
goals recommendations.
Social Health refers to building and maintaining satisfying relationships, comes naturally
to us, as we are social humans. Being socially accepted, is also connected to our
emotional well-being.
Situations of Social Health
1. Young adolescents choose friends who share the same interest with them.
2. Some enjoy being with friends, they enjoy choosing clothes to wear; they also crave
privacy.
3. Some consider approval of friends and other adolescents or peers as very important.
4. Those who grow up with family members showing love, guidance and support for each
other are less likely to get involved with bad company.
