An example of my leadership experiences start from when I was a young kid playing
football and leading a group of kids on the football field. In high school I joined Link Crew which
gave me the opportunity to lead. I have learned from a young age that one of my biggest
passions is leading. In my junior and senior years of high school I led groups of freshmen and
taught them about school and how to become a better student and person in general.
I have been on many sports teams and learned how to become a leader. The first time I
remember becoming a leader when I was quarterback of my flag football team. I was put at that
important position because of my leadership skills and passion for leading. Grabbing everyone's
attention and making sure everyone is on the same page comes easy to me. Making sure
people know what to do and guiding people is a strong suite of mine. Not only on the football
field as a child but the baseball field my whole childhood. As a freshman I played on both the
freshman team and the jv team playing 4 games a week and leading a winning team.
My junior and senior year of high school I joined Link Crew which is a club dedicated to leading
freshmen through their first year of high school. We put on events and check on every freshman
weekly. I am definitely one of the most popular Link Leaders and I am not afraid to put myself
out there.
I love to meet new people and I always try to make a good first impression. I like being
sociable, I think it is very beneficial since with my generation people prefer to communicate over
a screen. I always tell people I am willing to help out with anything.
What makes me a strong candidate for the University of California is that I’m a determined,
hard-working, motivated individual who wants to make an impact on society. I have a great work
ethic and the drive to succeed. I want to pursue a degree in criminal justice and enroll in a nrotc
program. I have always worried about my future so I have always made sure that I will be
successful. I believe that I would have a positive impact on campus as I do in high school. I
always participate in school activities and look for ways to help my school.
I have shown that I am a hard worker by getting straight A’s through my junior and senior year of
high school. I realized how important high school is to go to a good college after my sophomore
year so I was determined to finish high school with better grades. I studied harder and made
sure to be on top of assignments. I am not only a hard worker with education but as well with
helping out in my school. I loved helping set up school events and I was so determined because
the passion I had to make a difference. Sometimes I viewed it as a competition, I always tried to
be the hardest worker in the room.
I have always been ambitious and concerned about my future. I knew from a young age that I
had potential and that I wanted to be as successful as I could. I always looked up to police
officers and my older brother was a military policeman and I think that made me always
interested in law enforcement. I've always wanted to do something heroic but also protect and
serve my community. I want to pursue my dream of getting a degree in criminal justice and
becoming a police officer and applying to the fbi or any other major law enforcement
opportunities.
