Inetsat video server installation guide

Identifying the video server

Every video server has a tag on its case that corresponds to its ID on the Management Console. The
tag is located on the lower right of the front panel, accessible by a tab that can be pulled out.

Configuring the video server’s network settings

In order to configure the video server’s settings, a monitor will need to be connected to it. The back
of the server has USB-C ports that can be connected to an HDMI or DP adapter. Below is a picture of
where the USB-C ports are located and an example of a USB-C to HDMI adapter.
Once installed in the rack, power on the server and provide internet connectivity to it. Connect the
Ethernet cable through which the server will access the internet to any of the two Ethernet ports on
the back of the server. The server will only perform outgoing HTTP, HTTPS, and UDP requests
through ports 80 (http), 443 (https), 123 (udp), and 53 (udp). We recommend placing the server in a
demilitarized zone. The server can be placed behind a firewall/NAT and does not need a public IP or
port mapping for incoming connections.

Before starting, please make sure the video server is powered on and the Ethernet cable through
which the server will access the internet is connected to any of the two Ethernet ports of the server.

Log on to the server with username Setup, password setup.

Upon log on, the Inetsat logo, the name of the video server machine, and buttons to check if the
connection to Inetsat’s backend platform and the NTP server are working properly will be displayed:

Below this information, the available network adapters are displayed. Only network adapters that
have a physical Ethernet cable connected to them will appear on screen.

Configure the IP settings for the network adapter that is connected to the Ethernet cable that will
provide internet access to the server.

Select the option “Obtain an IP address automatically” if the network will provide a dynamic IP
address to the server through DCHP or the option “Use the following IP address” if a static IP address
will be assigned to the server. For the latter, enter the values for IP address, Subnet mask and
Default gateway. The gateway metric can be set to a specific value or be left with the default value
which is automatic.

For example:

Select the option “Obtain DNS server address automatically” if the network will provide the DNS
servers automatically or the option “Use the following DNS server addresses” if specific DNS servers
will be assigned. For the latter, enter the values for Preferred DNS server and Alternate DNS server.
The interface metric can be set to a specific value or be left with the default value which is
automatic.

For example:

Leave the NTP server configured by default or enter the IP address or domain name of another NTP
server if needed.
For example:

After the IP settings have been configured, click on “Save changes”.

Click on the first button named “Test” to verify the connection to Backend.

Click on the second button named “Test” to verify the connection to the NTP server.

If both tests are successful, the video server is installed and connected. If the tests fail, please verify
if the values entered in all the previous fields are correct and if the necessary outgoing connections
through ports 80 (http), 443 (https), 123 (udp), and 53 (udp) have been enabled on the firewall and
then test the connections again.
