Modification of the solenoid wiring loom for DC450/550

Issue: improvement of the plug connection to the scale

Machines affected: all Estrichboy DC450/ 550 machines manufactured between

September 2010 and May 2013 with Deutz diesel engine
D2011L03 fitted with the new type of engine stopping magnet.

New type of engine stopping magnet:

Deutz no.: 0410 3808 KZ for 12V

It is possible to identify the engine stopping

magnet by also referring to the modified
dimension (= 65 mm).

Problem: the diesel engine does not start due to the partially discharged
starter battery and loss of voltage in cables with an insufficient
cross section.

Proposal: install the solenoid wiring loom retrofit kit to increase the cable
cross sections.

Required materials:
• 1x wiring loom retrofit kit for Estrichboy AN582962.
The wiring loom is installed in the machine and connected
electrically alongside the existing wiring loom. No other
materials are required other than those listed.
• Insulating tape if required,
• Cable ties as required.

Required tools:
• Standard tools for electrical installations,
• Multimeter with continuity checker,
• Drill and relevant bit.

Instructions
1. Switch off the machine and secure against restart.

Retrofitting Harting connector X1

2. Disconnect the sleeve housing on Harting connector X1 at the control cabinet.

3. Remove the plug insert from Harting connector X1

and pull out as far as possible.

4. Drill a through borehole for PG9 (Ø15.7±0.2 mm)

into the top of the sleeve housing using an
appropriate tool.
Make sure that chips do not fall into the plug insert
and prevent single cores from sustaining damage!
5. Guide the single cores from the retrofit kit into the
through borehole in the sleeve housing and
secure the angle joint in the through borehole.

6. Disconnect the existing single core from terminal

21 of Harting connector X1 and insulate with
insulating tape.
7. Connect the red single core (X1/21) from the
retrofit kit to terminal 21 on Harting connector X1.

8. Disconnect existing Superseal connector Y85

from the solenoid.

9. Disconnect the two existing single cores from

terminal 8 of Harting connector X1.
10. Identify the single core leading from terminal 8 to
solenoid Y85 using the multimeter.
11. Insulate the corresponding single core using
insulating tape.

12. Identify the single core leading from terminal 8 to

temperature sensor S4 using the multimeter.
13. Crimp the relevant single core to the red joint
connector from the retrofit kit.
14. Connect the black single core (X1/8) from the
retrofit kit to terminal 8 on Harting connector X1.

15. Connect yellow bridge 2 from the retrofit kit (X1/12

to X1/15) between terminals 12 and 15 on Harting
connector X1.

16. Attach the plug insert to the sleeve housing on Harting connector X1.
17. Insert the sleeve housing on Harting connector X1 into the control cabinet again.
18. Guide the protective hose from the retrofit kit up to the distribution box and secure to the existing
wiring loom using cable ties.

Retrofitting the distribution box

1. Remove the front panel from the distribution box.

2. Drill a through borehole for PG11 (Ø19.0±0.2 mm)

into the top right of the distribution box using a
suitable tool.
Make sure that chips do not fall into the
distribution box and prevent single cores from
sustaining damage!
3. Guide the single cores from the retrofit kit into the
through borehole in the distribution box and
secure the cable gland in the through borehole.

4. Connect the red single core (X53/20) from the

retrofit kit to terminal 20 on terminal strip X53.

5. Disconnect the existing single core from terminal

12 on the terminal strip X53 and connect to
terminal 20.

6. Connect red bridge 1 from the retrofit kit (X53/12

to X53/20) between terminals 12 and 20 on
terminal strip X53.

7. Disconnect the existing single core from terminal

13 on terminal strip X53 and connect to terminal
5.

8. Attach the front panel to the distribution box again.

9. Guide the protective hose from the retrofit kit up to the solenoid and secure to the existing wiring
loom using cable ties.

Concluding tasks

10. Insulate the existing disconnected Superseal

connector Y85 on the solenoid and secure to
prevent damage.
11. Plug new Superseal connector Y85 from the
retrofit kit into the solenoid.

12. Also attach the blue ground cable from the

retrofit kit to the ground connection on the
engine.

13. Start the engine and check function.
