Bullying at school is a big problem that affects many students. It can cause long-lasting effects
on their lives.
Several things can cause bullying. It can happen when there is a (25) lack of adult control in
public areas of a school, so there is no one around to stop it. Schools always say they don’t allow
bullying to take place, but they must do positive things to (26) prevent / stop / keep it from
happening, like having teachers on duty during intervals and on transportation to and from
school.
Bullying is usually against students who are seen as different in some way. These differences can
be connected with physical features, such as weight, height, and hair color, or with cultural
differences, like the country, the race, or the religion that someone comes (27) from.
One surprising cause of bullying is a lack of self-esteem in the bully himself or herself. Students
who bully may not feel secure in (28) their own bodies, nationality, or culture.
Bullying can hurt the mental and physical health of the person who gets bullied. It can make
them feel anxious or depressed and may cause physical problems like headaches and stomach
aches. It may also lead to a student missing school and, as a result, doing (29) badly / poorly in
important examinations.
In conclusion, bullying is a serious issue that has many causes and effects. Schools need to do
more to prevent bullying and help those affected by it.

Building a good relationship with parents is a basic part of a teenager’s growth and
development. Let me give you some rules that can help you have a healthy and positive
relationship with your parents:

 Communication is the key to any healthy relationship, and it’s important for teenagers to
communicate regularly with their parents. Share your thoughts and feelings with them,
even if it’s something you think they may not want to hear.
 Teenagers should show respect to their parents, even if they don’t always agree with
them. This means listening to their opinions, following their rules about doing or not
doing things, and always treating them with kindness and consideration.
 Taking responsibility for your actions is an important part of growing up. Teenagers
should be responsible for their behavior, their schoolwork, and the things which they
have promised to do. If they don’t meet a promise, they should accept that they might be
punished, with a curfew, for example.
 Parents work hard to provide for their children, and it’s important for teenagers to show
that they are grateful for their efforts. Do not ignore the many things they do for you.
Say thank you!
 Spending time together as a family is important for building strong relationships. Be
prepared to spend time with your family, at mealtimes, for example, but turn off your
smartphone!
 Ask for help when you need it. If you are having problems with schoolwork or in your
relationship with a friend, parents are there to support their children and give advice
based on their lifetime’s experience.
These rules are based on my difficult time with my parents when I was 16, and now my time
as a mother of a teenager!
