1. DESCRIPTION
The converter module type WPT-1720-1100 is built as a fully controlled three phase draw-out
bridge consists of the following main components:

o Converter module with 6-pulse thyristor bridge

o 2x fans drawer

The draw-out contructions allows very short repair duration by replacing a complete converter.
The converter unit should be mounted in a converter cabinet.

The converter unit is composed of six thyristor stack. Each thyristor has gate driver board
which forming firning pulse and provide insolation between control equipment and thyristor
bridge.

The converter unit is cooled by forced air flow by 2 fans drawer. Replacing broken fans drawer
is possible during online operation. The temperature of the each heatsink is measured by
temperature sensor.

Depends of configuration converter can be equipped in internal snubber/clipper or can be used

external clipper.

The converter is equipped with 2 industrial plugs:

a) firing pulses

b) binary signals & temperature measurement.
