My hardest decision

When I was in first grade I started caoneing. I was doing it for 6 years, but after that I had to
make an important decision.

We were having trainings for years almost every day. Even when it was a shivering cold
winter day or the opposite in heat waves when the sun was shining. When we were around
7-8 years old none of us were that strong and disciplined. We started training from Monday
to Friday after school. At the weekends on Saturday we went to our local swimming pool and
on Sunday we went back to our regular training place. We had an enormous gym there with
loads of equipments, which helped us to improve. We even had an indoor swimming pool
with built-in caones so we could practice there when the Tisza river was icy and cold in the
winter. The trainings were fun and because of my friends the atmosphere was really
enjoyable. As the years went by the school got harder and we had to learn more to get better
grades. I had to find a balance between training and studying. In 5th grade we started to
attend in competitions. We were having more training then we used to and studying got
even harder. When I started to get worse grades I had to think about what should I do. I tried
talking with my coach about going to less trainings but he said if I won’t continue it like that I
have to leave. So i left. My grades got better and I had more free time and it was a stress
relief.

I honestly think that it was better for me to quit, than having bad grades. But I still miss those
fun trainings and lughs with my friends sometimes.
