On The Road - Best Practice Tips

Following an Incident
I was just involved in a road incident. What should I do?
1. Try to remain as calm as possible.
2. Call an ambulance (999 in UK, 112 in EU) immediately if anyone has been injured.
3. If safe to do so, move your vehicle to the side of the road. Use your safety equipment
such as flares, warning signs, and high visibility vest.
4. Stay in a safe waiting area and do not leave the scene until police show up. Ask all other
parties involved and witnesses to also stay at the scene.
5. Inform Amazon as soon as it is safe to do so.

Here are some additional tips related to incident reporting:

1. Do not discuss the accident or who is at fault with anyone except the police. Ask the
police to send you and your employer a copy of the police report.
2. Take note of the following information of other involved parties:
a. Full name, phone number, address, license, registration, insurance information and
truck operator details.
b. License plate number, make and body type of any involved trucks.
c. If the other involved party doesn’t own the truck, write down the name, address
and insurance information of the truck owner.
d. Any injuries from others and yourself. If injury to another party has occurred, ask
the police to share that information with you, including names, addresses and the
extent of injury.
e. What damages the equipment has sustained. If you happen to have a camera, take
pictures of the damaged equipment.
3. Take note of the following information about your surroundings:
a. Where did the incident take place: street names, stoplights, other rod signs,
relevant landmarks, etc.

To be printed out and stored in your glove boxes.
