The team finished in fifth place in the city of Toronto. One player, Cole Nead, qualified for the City Championships. Congrats to the twelve players and coaches Mr. Kralik, Mr. Solomon and Mr. Jeffery.

Athlete of the week: Christian LaFontaine

The BAA is honoured to name Christian LaFontaine as the first BAA athlete of the week. The fifth-year LaFontaine is currently starring on the football team at Northern as an offensive lineman, one of the less glamorous positions in the game. LaFontaine has now been a captain for two consecutive years and his leadership roles are important in developing the core of the O-line in the future. Were having a pretty strong season. he said. Weve had a few hiccups, but as long as we keep progressing and having fun with each other on the field, youll start to see something really special from this team. LaFontaine makes note that its important to always be a good teammate, especially as captain. However, he said, sometimes, its more about a player-to-player relationship than a team-to-player relationship. Im not really a group leader, he said. Im more of a oneon-one kind of guy. When I see somebody getting down on themselves or down on someone else, I like to pull him aside and talk to him about whats going on. With LaFontaine and other key players performing well so far, well see if the Red Knights can ride the wave all the way to the Metro Bowl.
